The problem is the ego of people, because they keep claiming that they do "original recipes" and then dont even check recipes, because if they would do they would notice that their version isnt original as Jamie Oliver who adds soy sauce to western dishes or other stuff that isnt local. Or the chefs that claim that a traditional dish needs wine, while the poor farmers couldnt afford anything.... why would you add expensive wine as a farmer in medival times? And no... the poor farmer also didnt had expensive pepper imported from India before the year 1600 and england didnt have rum before america as well, so there is no "shot of rum" in a dish like that. So by that logic... the host wasnt even doing that bad (it's terrible i know) because at least she used local things and didnt add soy sauce

Funny thing is, there are SO many different ways to make pozole depending on the region. Some are bright red bc of the chiles used, some are green, some "white," some have pork, beef or chicken. So many different ones! Yet, SOMEHOW, she managed to get absolutely nothing right for ANY kind of pozole!

@yeledleany81653 жыл бұрын
If the cook is using cumin in their so-called "Mexican dish" I immediately know that is definitely not an authentic Mexican dish and I already know the dish will most likely suck. Haven't been proven wrong, yet. It's different if they say it's a Tex-Mex dish, though.

Yes I was saying what Rachel made was not pozole it’s more of a southwestern style chili the style we eat in New Mexico and Arizona same style we even put sour cream, jalapeño and crushed corn chips or tortilla chips on top and we put brown sugar not honey.
