I don't agree although I am a fan of both. Jackson Browne is certainly underrated and underappreciated by many. I saw him perfom live at the Nassau Coliseum many years ago and he put on a great show. He also has written a number of songs which have been recorded by other artists. James Taylor is one of the rare few whose talent has stood the test of time.

LOL! This was a little odd. Certainly not a top rendition but it worked. I'm sure JT enjoyed it. I love Jackson Browne and Cheryl Crow, Crosby is just a classic, can't go wrong listening to his stuff. 2rainbowed: Crosby and Nash doing it would have been excellent!
@luv2ski8000712 жыл бұрын
Crosby is the most fried. Crow is the most outspoken and shrill. JT needs to mix more with real Americans living outside of the quaint coastal enclaves he calls home. JB is a decent human being that lets his emotions run when he should be thinking critically. We all want peace, love and an end to poverty, people. It's just that some of us don't think the answer is giant Soviet style bureaucracies that demonize the productive and spread the misery evenly to everyone except the ruling class.
@jondoe88899 жыл бұрын
Needed more JB + DC. Or maybe less Sheryl? It was OK - not her best. Seemed like a waste of having the boys up there.

A lot of people don't know the true story of this performance. David Crosby tried to get fresh with a waitress and was slapped right before going on stage. A security guard reached out and try to stop Crosby from going up the stage steps. The guard grab Croz's jacket and huge bag of weed fell out onto the floor.A scuffle ensued when Crosby reached down and fell. People came to Crosby's aide including a drunk Jack Nicholson who barfed as he tried to pull everyone apart. The seen was only calmed when Jackson Browne had a roadie distract security by throwing off his clothes and running leading the security guards on a chase thru the hotel kitchen allowing Crosby to make it to the stage. Man, that's when rock 'n' roll was real shit. Music mattered!
@martingardner9124 Жыл бұрын
Is that true that this happened at this event?? That that's how it got to be these three that sang this song?? An interesting mix: One is a friend of JT's (who toured with him a few years later), One is greatly influenced by him (and opened for him for a few shows 12 years later) and one sang backup on the original recording.

I feel like she wasn't in tune with the music. Or in tune at all. Poor Jackson is such a perfectionist he was probably losing his mind here. At one point he just closes his eyes maybe to shut it all away? Was waiting for him to angrily pull out his ear monitors to get rid of that sound. Didn't look happy when they finished but gave a (sheepish?) smile to James. There was just something wrong with this. Can't put my finger on it.

This is not Sheryl's best performance, but then I don't think she was ever fully relaxed into it (perhaps this isn't her favorite key). I've heard her do some good stuff though, you can't knock her credentials based on one bad performance. Overall an average cover, but it wasn't slaughtered or anything like some here are saying. JT is the king out of all of these though.
@lmorrisey10013 жыл бұрын
Maybe the key didn't suit her. Sometimes it's difficult to find a suitable key when you have a male/female combo.

How do you know they don't donate money or hold concerts that donate all proceeds to charitable causes? I know that at least Browne has done that. I'm liberal, self-supporting, not very wealthy, debt free, and I don't blame rich people for anything but not paying enough in taxes and destroying the pensions of employees in some corporations (Enron, etc.).
