Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but currently call Vietnam home. I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

The dishes that carry insects come from the Aztec culture and are produced in the center of the country. Mexican cuisine is very diverse. The one in the north is not the same as that of the south or the one in the center, nor is the gastronomy of the Yucatan peninsula, for that reason it is considered intangible heritage of humanity such as the Mediterranean, Japanese and french. In some countries like Peru it causes anger because they assure that Mexican cuisine is only about insects like their "frog juice" in Peru. Naturally, insect dishes for some reason are a tourist attraction, while Mexicans prefer tacos, mole enchilada and endless more.

@@isitamoguel girl my man of 9 yrs going on 10 is Mexican I know all about the tres leches, arroz con Leche y chocolate de abuelita. But I'm talking like a (wide) variety, cz America we just be making up desserts & stuff but I think with Mexico when it comes to sweets it's limited. Because the things we just mentioned like the arrow con Leche that's just sweet rice, not an actual true blue dessert, it's a side dish that's sweetened & chocolate de abuelita is just a hot chocolate drink not an actual dessert. And alot of the candies have chile in them.

03:40 if the flavor and smell of the cow stomach is too strong, that just means it was not properly prepared IMO. Proper rinsing and boiling it for a several minutes should fix that. I usually boil it with some bay leaf, salt and pepper - bay leaf works wonders!

@@MorningOnMarsmeat preparation and cleaning is always critical when dealing with innards of any animal. I'm not an expert on this subject, but I have decent experience preparing and cooking them. my mom says the same. I've never had stomach, but apparently my grandpa used to love preparing it and my mom mentions how much effort he put into making sure it was perfect. Sonny & team, thanks for another great video. I am enjoying this Mexican series. Indeed this cuisine is way more diverse than we think in Europe and in North America. When it comes to diversity, I think Mexican cuisine rivals Indian which for me was a surprise.

@@edmundoespinosa6974 but this is in south/ central Mexico. The home of the Aztec cuisine and melting pot of different regional Mexican cuisines. Not in northern Mexico.

Aww man I am so happy Sonny made it work after the big change and all the doubts and worries for the future of the channel. The content is as good as ever, the humour is there, and he pumps out this good quality content what twice a week? I feel like he found a new motivation/inspiration for his channel. I was worried for a minute there that if he cant figure it out I’ll lose my fave youtube channel! Whew! Well done Sonny!!! You rock!!! Keep doing what you are doing - you are one of the very best at this!!! I kinda feel like you’ve outgrown Anthony Bourdain at this stage… nothing he can do about it now sadly…
