I'm from Southern California and my entire life, I thought eating chili on candy, fruit, etc. was just widely known and accepted and I thought Pulparindos and Chili Rokas were staples in all store's candy sections throughout the US. Wasn't until early adulthood that I discovered this is a foreign concept to a lot of other Americans and one that usually gets a 'yuck' face. I don't know what's not to like; The balance of heat, sweet and tart is just the best. Not just for the candy, but for so many reasons I am grateful to have grown up around a dense population of Mexican people because I really became immersed in parts of the culture growing up and there are certain things I do still today that I couldn't imagine not having as part of my life. These things would not have been shown to me if it wasn't for the Mexican friends and families I grew up around!

It's great all over the region from South America to the mid American Midwest to the West Coast and East Coast and now even up north they're getting with it finally the right ways which is not trying to turn it Italian. Lol. It ain't underrated and hasn't been several decades.

@@gif24gt60 Well coming from a Mexican American who was born here but a majority of my family is originally from over there. Only thing taught about us in schools about Mexico would only be about how the Americans fought for the land and eventually came to agreements with the Mexicans over land. That’s about all that is taught to us all they way up till you graduate unfortunately. I still feel like we don’t get a lot of recognition even though we make up about 1/3 of americas population. 🤷‍♂️ I still feel like I don’t know anything about mexicos history and have to learn through family and sources like these. Much love and thank you for your concern 💪🇲🇽

Hi Sonny! Love the channels! When you are going through the markets could you show us a few non food local craft items also please? I've caught glimpses of things on the video but would love to see a few interesting local products. Thanks Sonny! XX

It is "mamey", and it is related to "chicozapote" or what you call "chico"; "mamey" is a little bigger and firm than chicozapote, also it is colour is like coral. They are native from Mexico and central american countries.

Hey Sonny. From these years of watching you, I know you like or at least can handle much spicier foods/sauces than myself. I'm sure you've tried it, and it was there while you were eating the tostadas, but the Valentina Black label is a must have. Great flavor and brings the heat. It's at my top end of heat that I can enjoy. I'm sure it would be low to mid range for you :)
