I just got one and not gonna lie, I'm upset that there isn't a description of WHAT it reads. Chemicals, bacteria? It just doesn't tell us what it reads for.

Yeah it just reads "particles". I don't think the technology to determine what those particles are is really available in a portable hand held device. If you got it from Amazon at least you can return it! I think this device is useful for alerting you to a potential problem. You would then need to have samples analyzed in a proper lab to find out the actual chemical breakdown of what might be present in you water. So my take is that if you use this to test and the readings are good, you then avoid spending A LOT of money on a proper lab analysis. However if you are looking to find out if you have a specific contaminant in your water you can get test kits to test for things like lead or other heavy metals. I'm not sure about test kits for bacteria, I haven't personally seen one but they may exist as well. I hope I didn't give you the impression that this little tester would provide you the exact breakdown of what is in the water and at what levels. I made this video quite a while ago so I will try to make a point to watch it to make sure. If I did give that impression let me apologize in advance as that wasn't my intention. Also thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, I really do appreciate that.
