Para que tu proyecto de construcción tenga un impacto en Dubai, más vale que sea grande, audaz y que supere al resto. Meydan One, el extravagante nuevo complejo de esparcimiento, comercios, residencias y hotel de Meydan Group, con sede en Dubai, el cual fue dado a conocer el lunes, romperá no uno, sino cinco récords mundiales para cuando se termine la construcción en 2020. Está la torre residencial más alta del mundo y la plataforma de observación con vista panorámica (711 metros) más alta, el restaurante más alto (675 metros), la fuente danzante más grande (420 metros) y la pista de esquí interior más larga (1,2 kilómetros de largo y 180 metros de alto). Los aficionados al esquí de Dubai probablemente estarán muy felices, ya que hay escasez de nieve en el emirato del Golfo donde las temperaturas pueden llegar hasta los 45ºC (113ºF). El enorme Meydan One Mall contará con 540.000 metros cuadrados de tiendas de lujo y marcas de primera. Los visitantes y residentes también pueden refrescarse en el parque acuático Crystal Lagoon, un puerto deportivo con 100 atracaderos y 300 metros de playa arenosa. Meydan One Mall -porque por supuesto hay un centro comercial- contará con 652 tiendas. Caminar por sus muchos pasillos debería darle a los 78.300 residentes que pueden vivir ahí suficientes opciones de entretenimiento y ejercicio, pero también habrá un centro deportivo de 25.000 metros cuadrados y una instalación con capacidad para 8.000 personas. Está programado que el proyecto de aproximadamente 8.600 millones de dólares se complete a tiempo para la World EXPO 2020, organizada por los EAU, ya que la construcción está en proceso.
