First I wanted to simply go on and write nothing. But as I see the comments, I have to react. With all possible respect regarding somebody s effort... The content in the video is not meeting the content in the text of 1570 print by J. Meyer. Why do you have masks is answered in the performance, but normally Meyer spent a fortune to teach how to do it without any mask. So it is one big NO to the video. The text is clear enough to guide everyone who is seriously in the study. All of those I worked with who made their way from chapter 1 to the end of the book, managed to reconstruct the stucke from chapter 11. I am certain it can be done way better, without any masks and correctly according to the text - by you as authors of the video and anyone else. Thanks for understanding my suffering while watching the video. Let s do our European martial art better!

Thank you for your comment! I really like your videos and your content! And I don't disagree with you, it can always be better. I'm sure that's true for all of us, isn't it? Regarding the helmet... Well, we fence in all kinds of set-ups. With equipment, without equipment, or something in between depending on the scenario, the skill level and the way you feel comfortable with. In videos, or rather in exactly this one, I have done it with helmet and there are some, e.g. with halberd, where it is shown without. As i mentioned before we are flexible here. To say it's better to do it in just one way is a bit one-sided in my opinion, but basically everyone has to decide for themselves, right? Everyone has a different approach to safety and execution and I personally respect everys approach (personal aspects and interpretations, non-profit club responsibilities, profit oriented school systems, reenactment, etc.) However, when it comes to the tiresome debate about what corresponds to the "true way", I can only say that nobody, not even you, consistently fences the way it was done back then. It's not enough to simply say you don't use protective equipment. I really know a lot of great coaches and fencers from you and your guild, I have fenced with them and had a beer and a laugh in the evening. We all love the art of fencing, respect each other and it becomes very clear every time... Such debates should be held in front of each other and I'm sure afterwards you can understand each other's backgrounds much better. So I'll save us an eternally long debate about who does it "better" in a comment section. Cheers :)

Yes, the reason why I did not want to let go, is that I care and apretiate work of everyone who is serious in the pursuit of the traditional art. In my eyes you can do better. I know you can. Thanks and God speed.
