If I could get the knockoff for no more than $70 then I'd take it over the official one. $150 - $200 for a 6" figure is A LOT. But that's pretty much what a standard issue Mezco Punisher is actually going for right now. Thanks for sharing by the way - very informative.

Great video. Videos like this are extremely helpful to new collectors so they know what to look out for. I run a shop that buys and sells comics and collectibles and have had someone try to pass off a fake to one of my employees by using the fake figure and accessories with their real box so It's not hard to imagine others trying that same scam. I have a few of the ko mezco figures, bought exclusively for customs and have to say I prefer the fakes head sculpts/paint apps and the fake harness to the real one. Also appreciate the skin tone pegs in the wrist because I've gone with short sleeves, repainted the eyes and sealed the skin areas on the face with a matte finish and left the shinier hair. I also purchased the leather trench coat for it so I can give him his fully loaded look, just wish it wasn't 30 bucks,look forward to the upcoming release of different color pants and jackets so I can swap this guys with the grey ones. Imo the ko guys should've knocked off of the classic variant. They would sell a hell of a lot more of them.

leepicciotto agree. Be great to get the other rarer variants with coat etc but I guess they're looking for quick and easy and sourcing a variant might have been tougher, especially if they had to damage multiple official versions to get the KO.

Best tip to avoid a KO is DON'T buy from China Taiwan or Thailand and if they use stock photos.

FANTAStic video, I would have liked a bit more information on the articulation since I have seen other videos that say the joints are ver stiff and fragile... I also want one knockoff to pose and display and keep my original Mezco safe, especially because of the reported hand pegs. If I use my original heads, hands and weapons with the knockoff body he should be more than fine... hey could you recommend the seller?

Raul Vito I was going to do articulation but after trying it out I saw no difference between KO and Official (could have just been lucky with my one) decided not to stretch the video out too long.

Raul Vito I have only ever bought this item from them and although the item got to me with only damage to the box I can't guarantee it would be the same for you. Still it's unlikely to get smashed up too bad.

You do understand that all of these come from the same factory, hence the same body. The knockoffs always have a very subtle and minor differences as the originals but since they fail the quality checks and the manufacturer has to cover their losses hence they sell these rejected pieces to the knockoff companies. Unlike Western world where the rejected pieces are discarded and destroyed, the Chinese and in general South eastern economies cover their losses by keeping alive the knockoff industry. No wonder you can assemble you own Iphone or Android phones in China. And it goes on almost everything that comes out of these economies, be it electronics, apparel or anything else. My neighbor runs a apparel factory in Bangladesh, and you would be amazed that the pieces rejected by brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Lacoste or Van Hausen due to even minor factory defects like stray threads are sold in knockoff shops for as less as 30% of their sticker prices. For Apparels, India even has a legit knock off economy called Factory outlets, with year round advertisements of over 50% discount sales.

@@ONESIXTHCAVE You have to very careful when you deal with knockoffs, a sure give away is the price, if the product is more than 20% cheaper that means its a sure knockoff, for example, a original Mafex figure will cost around 100 bucks in US, it can cost as cheap as 30-40 bucks in sites like Aliexpress, which means those are sure shot knockoffs. Sometimes if you are lucky you can really find a good one which is very difficult to differentiate from the original brand. But most of the time you get major quality issues like loose joints, paint defects, casting defects etc.

This is why I'm ok with kos in a way I'm being more environmentally conscious by making sure these don't end up in the trash by buying them...that and I'm cheap😁 thanks for sharing this information, a lot of people don't understand that a ko is more than acceptable if looking this close to the original. Plus if you don't have the money this is a great alternative.

@@Foggy_Creations I don't know about the action figure community in general, but when I was into Mattel's GIJOEs most of the time I used to pose them, and as long as I could do the same with KOs, I am okay cause saving 50 bucks in my country means, I can (lavishly) have 2 meals, which is more than worth. And over the time I have acquired certain fixes to help weak joints and stuff, so I don't mind.
