Mezco Toys 1/12th Scale Popeye & Bluto Deluxe Set

Oh my God. I didn't know these figures existed. Brings back memories. The only thing I don't like are those transparent arms for the stands. I definitely would not want to use the poles. I would use the pegs. It's always amazing to me how toy makers can make clothing smaller and smaller and smaller. I never would have thought we would have seen things so elaborate for 1/12th scale figures. I'm glad they used velcro regardless on the clothes. I wish they would do that more with 1/6 scale figures. Sometimes buttons fall off and I hate that part. The smoke pieces on the pipe are creative and so nicely done. I can't believe they did diecast stuff. The crushed can of spinach was priceless. I love Popeye especially, but both these guys are great. Nice!!! I wish they would make Olive Oyl and Sweet Pea. Oh and Wimpy too!!! 🙂

Thats why I actually got these figurs. I normally don’t get figures just out of the blue, but I grew up with the cartoons so I just had to have them LOL. My experience with transparent plastic is that it is the first type of plastic that will crack. It also turns yellow over time. Luckily these two figures can stand just well on their own though. Im not sure what to think of fabrics on such a small scaled figure. It works well in 1/6th scale, but the thing about fabrics is that you can’t scale down the weight. On these two figures it doesn’t look too bad so it isn’t a problem. It actually looks good and the clothes hide the joints really well. I was actually hoping that Mezco would make more of the Popeye characters to be honest, but at this point it seems highly unlikely. Oh, well. It is what it is, I guess LOL. At least I got these two for my collection 😊

Thanks! Yes, this set is very, very nice. Im so happy that I decided to get this one. I mostly collect 1/6th scale figures, but some times these smaller figures are way too awesome to pass on.

Yes it is. I was in doubt about this one myself at first, since I don’t really focus on the smaller figures. But this being Popeye and me growing up with the cartoons, I just had to have it. Im really hoping for a Olive and Oyl two-pack now, just to complete the four main characters from the show.

Man these are great tempted to buy them. You have to do a follow up outfit showing the 3 popeye outfits even if its just pics, the pea coat look and raincoat and hat are so adorable.

I was going to do that for the review, but then I decided not to. I wanted to show off the articulation properly by completely undressing both figures, but I didn’t want to mess up the outfits 😅 I don’t know how the outfit swap was intended for these at all. I was thinking that it was probably possible to dismantle the figures, but I don’t dare to try it, because Im too afraid to breake the figures 😂 So they’ll stay as they are untill I figure out the best way to swap the outfits 😄

Awesome figures. Mezco are a little expensive but they make good quality figures.

Thanks! These are absolutely awesome! Yeah, the price is a bit stiff on the Mezco figures, but you do get a most superb quality.
