I think Gambit is just a hard character to nail because all of their respective hair sculpts look pretty underwhelming to me. The Legends one is bad, but the Revoltech and Mezco ones are both pretty mediocre too IMO. The hair sculpt on the upcoming Mafex Gambit looks the best by far IMO

@@juansanchez209 Yeah, and that's the comic figure I'm most looking forward to. I have the ToyBiz one, the Select one, and now the Hasbro one (passed on those two you mentioned); but now will have _the_ definitive one with Mafex...same as most all their figures. Venom's the only one I can't say for certain is the best. That one (The Madness) Select version is an amazing McFarlane Venom, just limited with the articulation.

Yep that staff isnt bad either. I was lucky to catch a select gambit cheap. I still need to order a custom gambit head. But its getting to the point if I have to replace hasbro's paint job, accessories, capes, head sculpts I might as well pay for a mezco or mafex!

Fantastic review!!!! I have defiantly been waiting for your assessment regarding to engineering and mobile structure of the figure. Excellent job building on the virtues and unveiling the vices. I like covering the box in my reviews. It helps to distinguish between knock offs and the real deal. So if you pick up a suspicious figure off ebay, I try to give you a reference to compare it to if you want to see if the one you bought is really legit. I also like to do unboxing so you can compare to see if the one you bought is really “brand new and unopened” or if it actually is used and opened.

Close up of the box allow buyers on the secondary market to compare the one they bought to a genuine release to make sure it is not a knock off. It also helps to see if it has been opened or not. This is especially helpful for new buyers in the hobby who may not know what a brand new figure looks like and what a used figure being sold as “new” looks like.

Yeah, that was my default Gambit until the last Legends one. Such an awesome headsculpt and set of accessories. But like you said, articulation sucks. It's the fact the arms are always sticking out from their side...like the Select Cable.

Chalor yeah in X-men TAS they always made him buff like that and yes Cyke is buff but he’s supposed to be like a skinny buff they really show how skinny but muscular he’s supposed to be in AvX and astonishing X-Men Cyke is actually 6’3 and some change so he’s closer actually to about 6’4 but he’s only about 190 or something like that hell I’m only 5’9 and weigh about 175-180 and I look damn near average so just think 6’4ish and 190 he’s 7” taller than me but barely weighs more than I do for his height he should be close to 230-240ish to be considered about normal H&W I believe but don’t quote me on that I’m not 100% sure but I know what you’re saying though he does supposed to be muscular but thinner though

Gambit always came off tall and athletic. I don't mind Gambit appearing slightly taller looking than Cyclops. Some people just have a tall look and Gambit always seemed like that to me.

Totally disagree with you on the straps around his wrists. It adds realisim to the piece and is a great addition. Saying it might get snagged on something and break off sounds overdramatic to me because I can't imagine any scenario where that is likely to happen. Uts not like his jacket comes off and even if it did I cant imagine that would break off. Nor dos anying go on or around his wrist (like a bracelet) to cause a snag....Come on. Is he going to come alive and dig his hands into things like gravel? Anyway he looks great. He's always been one of the better looking X-men characters

@RLee Roberts I'm not quite sure exactly what you're sayin' with that. As in it's silly collectors buy the same character from different companies? Not sure how to take that lol. Like if you're a fan of a character, why would you not wanna buy different versions. I used to be a _one and done_ collector...as in I only need one version of each character. But now, Mezco, Mafex, Marvel Select and Revoltech all bring something totally different to the table than Hasbro. It's nice to have so much variety and options. But regardless, I get what I love. Don't have the space and money to be a completist.

I got the Mafex one on pre-order too. It's just that One:12 figures serve a totally different purpose than Mafex, Hasbro, etc. They're just not all that comparable in my view. I am super glad we're getting a cloth cape with the Mafex one. Hope the final product has the same colour for the coat. The Legends ones have always been way too dark for my liking.
