Meze 99 Classics - Is it just BASS??

loved the detailed analysis of the 99 classics with a variety of songs/sound signatures. thanks for that. ques: even though I am a bass-head & was very much looking forward to getting the 99 classics, i do listen to a LOT of rap, hip-hop, rnb, edm. which headphones would you recommend instead of these? tia. ✌

Try them out with velour or microsuede pads. It changes the sound signature in a good way

If your taste is not this boring neutral flat bass reviewer then I'll sub to you. I'm just tired of people on KZbin always talking as if V shape is a bad thing. It's what most people enjoy. A very well done v shape is better than any tuning .

I don't hold myself to a signature preference. I'm more of depending what mood I'm in. So I enjoy the 99 Classics just like I may enjoy something neutral or bright. That's also why I don't EQ.

for me bass is overdone there its like too much in the mids but not enough in the sub bass, for some music kinds it can be good yet still in that price range are better options

Definitely can see that. It's not a one size fits all headphone for sound.

Dt900 proX or K371 are not better choices in this price range ? Maybe also the hd560s?
