So a metallic instrument like a guitar shouldn't sound metallic on a headphone. It should sound "natural" and "woody".

I agree with Ryan, I don't think they are bad. Honestly I have listened to other headphones that almost make me cringe to listen to them. With the Azurys, I just didn't like constantly messing with volume and lack of clarity in the vocals. A lot of times it felt like the instrumentals and vocals were competing with each other.

Great review. I have a susvara OG and the holo audio bliss kte. I feel like the bass authority is an bit lacking compare to other hifiman headphones like the Arya. Im not sure if it is a pairing issue and if i should look for another amp. It sounds like you spent most of your time reviewing on the bliss. Was there any noticable difference in the bass on the bliss vs the enilium amps? Did you prefer the bliss overall?

great review! just wondering on how it compares to the hd6x0 line(hd600, 6xx, 580, etc) if you have experience with those. i find the 6x0 line to lack bass and it affects my enjoyment of hiphop and R&B tracks a lot(less engaging/energy/excitement). would you say the hadenys are an upgrade of sorts? maybe the mids/timbre arent as good as the 6x0s but what about everything else(bass, treble, detail/resolution/instrument separation/layering)?
@Skeeb233 сағат бұрын
I'd say an upgrade for the Hadenys. Thing is, the Sennheiser cans can scale with power being higher impedance. So there is that to consider as well.

@Skeeb237 күн бұрын
At home, I love to use my ZMF's with the Cayin stuff for that. ZMF Atrium Closed on my HA-3A is magic. My Auteur Classic is as well, just with less of the low end emphasis. I need to extra grip/bite that the ZMF house sound can provide. I do think the Arya Organic does well but it can get a bit sharp at times. Paired with the right amp to curve it a bit definitely helps. Right now...listening to the Bokeh Open but not ready to discuss it yet.

I wish I had heard the MMX300 Pro as well, but I haven't yet. The MMX330 Pro will do very well for shooters. It's not overly done in the low end so that it drowns out footsteps and finite details you'll need to pinpoint things out.

I recently got a pair of used HD800S paired with the Zen DAC 3 from iFi Audio. A perfect pairing for gaming and music. The Xbass feature adds the perfect amount of sub bass and low bass body and character without being over bearing, listening to music. When I’m gaming, I turn the Xbass off for that accurate sound reproduction. I’ve previously owned Focal Clear MGs and Hifiman Arya Stealth, but the Sennheisers just have something magical about them that I can’t quite put my finger on. The imaging of a well produced album is like hearing a live studio recording!❤❤❤

I use an RME ADI-2 DAC FS in multiple roles: in combination with a TOSLINK feed from the TV and Primare i35 amp with floor standing Falcon Acoustic RAM speakers; as a DAC pre-amp for the Cayin HA-3A tube headphone amp; and also as a fine headphone amp in its own right. However, for classical music listening I like the warmth of valves. Quite apart from its stellar build, one of the beauties of this DAC is its ability to shape sound through its EQ operation. This is a byproduct of RME’s studio equipment heritage and may be off-putting to many people. I’d include myself in this category were it not for the ability to download relevant preset parameter definitions for many headphones which then merely require inputting. The ADI Remote app makes this a breeze to do. Simple bass and treble adjustments on the fly are easily done too, either with the app or with dedicated rotaries. So it should be possible to tailor many if not most headphones to the HA-3A. I have done this with my Hifiman Arya Organics and they sound great. RME is one of the top names in the studio business and its support is renowned. The HA-3A is a wonderful amplifier and certainly powerful enough for most headphones except possibly the most demanding planars. I have replaced the JJ 12AU7s with military grade Philips 5814A valves but the supplied AU7s are certainly excellent too. As for the build quality, I cannot fault it. I did consider the HA-6A and while this offers more flexibility it would have been overkill for my purposes and it is quite large and very heavy! I had a couple of operational queries which were addressed within hours by John Huang of Cayin’s support team. All round highly impressive!

New to the channel. New to Koss. New to Porta Pro. Great review dude. Scooped up a Mod Retro from GameStop, and they happened to collab with Koss. 50 bucks for a matching pair of phones to go with the toughest Game Boy ever built! I figured why the hell not? Bro! Super stoked with these. They instantly became my go to gaming headset just as you’d said. Stalker 2. Chefs kiss! Went looking for a review wondering where I’d been all these years. Needless to say I’m happy to be here. Sounds like you’d have the perfect excuse to scoop up another pair of this outstanding gear. The Portas I picked up are grey, which matched the system, and were offered as a retail exclusive from GameStop. Turns out there are several other colors. 7 in total. I’ll add that the Mod Retro logo on the Portas was a nice touch. Can’t wait to check out those Yaxi pads as well. Thanks for the review.

The design is great, as always, just like any other porta pros. The thing that it now works without the original crappy cable is a huge lift. But it sure is lacking in some nowadays "standard" specs, especially when considering its price. It feels like PP wireless is two or three generations behind the wireless headphone industry. I can easily pick up a flagship TWS earphones or a great wireless headphones which supports all kinds of bluetooth codecs with that budget. So to me this product is more likely to be more appealing among the PP fans rather than average customers.

@martinpaling198919 күн бұрын
I have just bought one of these little tube amps and, contrary to the view expressed here, it matches well with my HiFiMan Arya Organic phones. Now this may be because I am using an RME ADI-2 DAC between the phones and the amp. The beauty of this DAC (also a headphone amp) is that the PEQ can be tailored to individual phones (see other videos on KZbin) and I have done this for mine. I have also tried using a Linn DSM Selekt with Katalyst DAC as the feed. The Katalyst is a great DAC but EQ cannot be adjusted as with the ADI-2. The sound through the Arya Organics is OK with this DAC but not as good as with the RME. While I have found the RME to be excellent as a headphone amp the Cayin just adds that little bit of tube warmth which I enjoy. Extravagant? Not really at these prices.
@Skeeb2318 күн бұрын
I'd say the ADI2 is definitely helping you there with the PEQ. I can give a small update, however, that after tube rolling I have found a warmer tube that compliments the Organic very well. That is the beauty of tube amps! Glad you are enjoying the Organic with the HA-3A. It really is a fantastic amp.
