I feel like using source files isnt super indicative of how your DAC Amp or recording setup plays how the headphones manipulate the audio. You should another pair of reference headphone to try and reduce changes in other variables through rerecording the audio. That way your control group is as similar as possible to the tested group.

Thank you for the review. Did you try some other BrainWavz pads, like hybrid, micro-suede etc.
@MrAyrit3 жыл бұрын
I did. Much more comfortable. I liked the sound the best with the microsuede. Too bad Meze doesn’t have that option, because the Brainwavz pads ruin the beautiful design.

Not really my genre, so it's hard for me to say. If you like heavy bass and lighter top end, then these may do the trick.

I ucrrently have the dt770s, do you think this would be an upgrade from them? I really do like bass, i primarily game. Hows the imaging and sound stage compared to the dt770?

Damn, I didn’t want to like the beainwavez, but I do…. At least listening here through some Bluetooth ANC headphones. 😄 I bought the headphones so…I’ll listen to them soon. If they really are this muddy I’ll be buying the brainwavez pads. Thanks.

I thought vocals were more recessed with valour pads, to me the sound was best with stiff pads !!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Thats so funny to me the vocals sound like the muffled with the pleather and stock pads, the valour really brings forward the vocals but the top end feels more crisp while the bass feels extra punchy. Like the vocals sound stuffy regardless compared to the source file but the velour sounds slightly tinny over bloated which for me at least sounds better
@sonorangaming4493 жыл бұрын
@@ThevenimX Im not an audiophile, just a music appreciator, and I definitely found the vocals to sound much nicer and more present with the velour pads. With the stiff pads, it sounds to me like there is ...something in-between the music and my ear that ever so slightly muffles the music.

what are those pads?

I believe they were the Brainwavz Velours. Could have been the Monoprice ones. There may be a link in the description.

How much isolation/sound leakage would you lose when switching to velour pads?
@MrAyrit3 жыл бұрын
You don't lose all isolation, but it definitely goes down. I wouldn't worry about anything leaking out, just in.
@lucalarsson34783 жыл бұрын
@@MrAyrit is there any way to describe how it feels as far as isolation comparing the stock and velour pads? Like let’s say the amount of clarity when talking? Idk how to explain it :/
@MrAyrit3 жыл бұрын
@@lucalarsson3478 Sorry, Darth, but it's been too long for me to articulate it to that level. I just know I preferred it with the Velours. But if I were to try and put a number on it, I'd say it has 90% isolation with the stock pads and 75% isolation with the Velours (but those are totally arbitrary numbers that I just pulled out of my butt based on my memory from months ago....)

Excellent review, which has made me doubt the truth, because I am looking for a closed headphone with a great stage and definition which the meze seems to meet just, but seeing your review of the BEYERDYNAMIC DT770 PRO I like that sound more. But tell me which seriously would you take for a pleasant and defined listening?
@MrAyrit4 жыл бұрын
For a smooth and pleasant listening experience, I believe I would take the Meze 99 and put the velour pads on them. Just be aware that you will lose quite a bit of isolation by switching to velour pads.
@MrAyrit4 жыл бұрын
The DT770 is more precise, but it also is a little edgier than the Meze - the Meze would be a much more relaxed experience IMO.
