Off topic: I'm glad to see that Resolve is finally letting his hair down. Or hat down? Or whatever. Being of the near-bald persuasion myself, I often wonder if I have an advantage over hair carrying members of the headphones loving tribe. I'm yet to measure this theory, but I strongly believe that my near exposed skull may resonate more readily to the good vibes. But seriously , the Meze head band looks like it's perfectly noggin conforming. I may try them for this reason alone. Excellent stream as always. Keep it up.

1:10:20 Earfonia has a great write up on this. Personally I bought an ali coupler in 2021. Type E610A, serial number 30742. Imo it's pretty solid. The worst part about my unit wasn't the coupler but the microphone. It was literally a steel tube with the cheapest 1/4" (6 mm) electret glued at the end and a giant piece of wire stuffed into the tube. Pretty much impossible to measure THD below 0.2%. On the coupler side the O-rings were a bit weak and one of the parts clearly used a laser-cut pre-product. They also seem to omit the pressure equalization channel. Nothing that impedes the function of the coupler though. It has the main volume and the two resonators. Since I replaced the capsule with a 10 mm Primo it has been great.

I don't understand why the 15-16k peak is relevant. A) I understand measurement are not as reliable above a certain frequency, I think 5k? B) unless you're quite young most listeners won't hear at that frequency C) even if they did there are hardly any sounds in music that high? Anyway, I love the default tuning of the Elite. And the D9200 for that matter. 😊

Men the iems speacially nowadays are scary good! I already changed my half of headphone collections to iems! And i agree this 200-350 price range in iems the sweet spot!

That's interesting! I tried almost every TOTL headphones and finally I pick Elite. I will never say anyone wrong but imo Elite tuning is amazing! If every headphones follow the Harman target, what's the fun?

It was able to try the Emps …and they are damn nice …but are they worth the considerable sum ..🤷🏻‍♂️ I think Golden Sound said it best ..they’re the most comfortable and well built $3000 headphone..that performs like a really really good $1000 headphone…..I guess that’s why we all watch many reviewers channels .

I tried the Elite at can jam this year. I honestly wasn't impressed. it sounded a bit dull, harmonically muted, not a lot of timbral/musical liveliness. Sure, the warmth, the smoothness, the size of the sound, etc... but come on, these days 100 bucks will get you something like an HE400se, which is already tonally more correct than the elite, at 1/50th the price (!). Most of the hifiman and audeze headphones I tried really outshine the elite in resolution, imaging, accuracy, and ultimately, musical engagement. To me, the he1000se wipes the floor with an elite, in every aspect, and it's still quite a bit cheaper! Oh and needless to say, I even found the 109 pro to be much more enjoyable, engaging, and realistic than the elite.

I have them both right now on my desk. I own the He1000Se, Elite is on loan. Really, I don't know how can you say "HeKse wipes the floor with an elite, in every aspect". More punch from Elite, more musicality, better voices, excellent soundstage, maybe not as fast, but also not so metallic, harsh. To my ears ELite is way better. Or maybe my Trafomatic tube amp makes them sound different, I don't know.
