Hi Dave, the oil supply on those late 354's actually comes from the lower large hole (injection pump side). The middle hole is used for piston cooling jets, or as the crossover tube for oil filters on the turbo side, and over pressure relief. definitely don't block it. Id suggest popping off the sump so you can see what I'm talking about. EDIT: actually, what your suggesting might work with no issue, I just looked at my engine (I'm doing the opposite and filter has to go on the turbo side and its a little more complicated)

Hopefully tomorrow will crank and see if oil comes out to feed turbo now I got the correct cover plate 👍

Looks like someone used dot4 rather than mineral oil to top up brake reservoir

Rear loaders were a real pain to use. We had a few farmers with them who swore by them, krick neck as standard. The Red Valtra's had multi plate disc brakes bit like Banner Lane MF's but with organic linings. Both Tier 2 U11001 to U11400 and Tier 3 U11401 to 9999 have same system. Fortunately not like Beauvais units with single plate paper brake disc, once you had pedal loss you had to replace brake disc or face a heafty repair job and bill. Assume he is using the correct brake oil????. Check with your Northern Parts friend re brake oil type.

Seems people are horrible at maintaining or cleaning their vehicles and equipment. It keeps you in jobs, but my word, I could not stand to have a vehicle so filthy. Kudos to yours and your apprentice's patience.

Seen some seals go like that when someone put the wrong type of fluid in.might be worth checking that if its a stand alone system not a transmission fed one.👍

I was wondering if wrong fluid used , it’s got its own pot supply up by the battery
