Lance, My name is Jon, I live in Tennessee in the USA. I want to thank you for all of your Videos. I am restoring a Massey Ferguson 202. A little Industrial tractor that is essentially a MF 35. I just begun disassembling the the gear box after watching your videos on this part of your series of the MF135 Restoration. I even built a bracket to allow for the engine stand to hold the gearbox after seeing what you did. You videos gave me the confidence to take this on!! Thanks again. I really enjoy all your videos. Jon M.

Thanks Jon, Glad it helps, the stand does make it easy for sure and it did help me with the filming.

Following along with my 1955 TO-35 gearbox, they had a prior design where (at 29:00) it can't be hammered back as there is a chunky internal snap ring on the end of the lower gear and then the shaft has to come forward not out the back as in the video.
@BundyBearsShed3 жыл бұрын
Some early ones came out the front on the FE35 we have here.

I sure do like that engine stand. I wouldn't want to do that job with out it. I have 4 stands, one I made which is higher and 3 Harbor Freight stands. I think I need one like yours, the variable work position makes an engine job easier plus all the other things you could do with it by making a proper adapter.

This stand is a Blue Point one from the cheap side of the Snap-on truck if there is such a thing as cheap Snap-on. Very handy stand though.

@@BundyBearsShed is this the same as a MF50 transmission? Mine is leaking from the weep hole in the bell housing I'm assuming its the input seal.

A lockout is designed to prevent 2 gears being selected at once. They consist of balls or pins that stop one selector shaft moving once another has moved.

great series brilliantly explained and filmed you confused me for a moment with the shaft and hydraulic pump cam by holding them in the centre hole and not where they go along the bottom of the housing to the pto ,just made me concentrate better !!

Just getting organised to assemble with a lot more on how it works hopefully. Lot of rooting around in the pre filming stages at present but hopefully it will be clear then.

G`day Lance , we have a petrol 35 , and the bottom PTO shaft ,wont tap to the rear , you have to take the circlip off the PTO drive and the shaft will pull out forwards . Maybe the petrol and the 35 Diesel are different in the PTO drive
@BundyBearsShed5 жыл бұрын
G Day Dave, Yes some were like that for sure, I probably should have mentioned it, there are a few changes from the 35 to the 135 and the late 135.

Hi Lance- just using your video to strip a 35 four cylinder diesel deluxe gearbox ( 1959 ) and I was giving the bottom shaft a hammering to be pushed out the back, but found that it comes out the front instead. The front most gear has a circlip inside it which once removed allowed the shaft to only come out forward. Thought I'd mention it in case there are different versions and someone else was left hammering away like I was for a while. Any feedback appreciated- keep up the good work.
@BundyBearsShed4 жыл бұрын
Yes some of the early tractors did come out the front and it would have been good if they all did. Ill have to cover that when I do one of the FE35s up.

Forgive my ignorance Bundy but would this be the same for a 185 even though it has Multi Power? AND Do you just do springs and balls if it is getting stuck in first?
@BundyBearsShed2 жыл бұрын
I have a 135 multipower series and that would be a better choice to watch as it would be very similar.
