@@ArxangelRC if you're catering to the "I want to be entertained" crowd, then you're correct, in fact your videos should be flashy, full of click bait, and lots of "wow" and "oops!" moments, but if you want to engage an educated audience that would love to follow on your footsteps then lots of info helps. Dear Nikolai, What would your rather recommend - crosswind or X-UAV clouds?
@ArxangelRC4 жыл бұрын
Well... it largely depends on the intended use! For FPV only... the Clouds is a very tempting option because it is relatively compact, once CG is correct it is absolutely a dream to fly, and auto take offs are exceptionally easy! The Crosswind Pro is definitely more oriented towards mapping... and it is a good deal bulkier... and also more expensive!
@iamgodlewski5 жыл бұрын
You are soldering the wrong way and will get cold solder joints or disconnects in flight. You need to tin the solder tip, then touch it against the metal you want to solder so that it can transfer enough heat so that next, when you put solder on the METAL (not on the solder tip) it will cause the solder to melt directly on the METAL. Without actively adding solder you are not adding flux to your connector which is a MUST for a proper solder connection.
@ArxangelRC5 жыл бұрын
Actually... I am touching the connector with the tip, it starts heating up... and then I apply solder directly to the point where the tip is touching the metal. So far I've had no issues or cold solder problems doing it this way... and it has been years! Also... this way all available flux does get used to fuse solder to metal... rather than just burning it up by tinning the tip first!

iNav doesn't matter! In the settings for the TeleFlyTiny and also the Crossbow Mini there are options to set them to V2 or V1 tracking data! If one is set to V2, which I assume the TeleFlyTiny is, and the Crossbow Mini is set to V1, which is how mine came... then they will not see each other!

Right... well... unlike with the electronics provided for MFD products... which is actually top notch stuff... I mean... HobbyWing ESCs (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), I can actually recommend the power pack for these planes with absolute certainly! In comparison... I cannot recommend the Volantex electronics, and my first suggestion most of the time is to replace most of it, if not all... so really... if you have to buy proper stuff anyway... it is not that much cheaper... you do have to take into account the quality of the parts included... no only that they both provide ESCs... because in my experience... who made the ESC is quite important! Same goes for the servos, and other stuff, including motors! I may be OK running my Volantex motor on the Phoenix 2400 on 4S, but other people are burning theirs.... what does that tell you? LACK OF QC and lack of reliable manufacturing to ensure they can all survive those conditions! Haven't had any complaints about anything that has ever come on an MFD plane!!! There IS a reason why all my planes are running HobbyWing ESCs... and also why MFD are using that particular brand too!
@typxxilps5 жыл бұрын
@@ArxangelRC yes, I can understand that but if I start such an adventure that can go terribly wrong as you know I should be aware of the total amount at stake and that is a lot more than the kit. The other point: chinese kind of understanding customer satisfaction Banggood and Gearbest as retailers are hard to fight with regarding warranty or missing pieces ... even with paypal. And I do nit wanna imagine the fight with a manufacturerer with a sales team that is not so internationally experienced. Another point: Banggood and gearbest know how to get their parts into the EU but who knows about mfd and ce certificates? If I spend 500€ + I want to have at least a sales outlet in europe like Xiaomi has or dji. I bought dji and they handled my complains like other european or german companies. And I was happy that Volantex had offered blown fuselages and the quality they delivered cause they worked out for me. Arrived in good condition and all pieces in the box. Maybe MFD delivers higher quality that I could not see but ★ will I get the same attention if I complain ★ why are people complaining about tiny parts missing or broken ★ does your shipping might get a second check Sorry, but spending 150$ for a volantex - even if the components are crap which you did not mention in your volantex reviews that volantex motor, esc, servis, props are crap - and upgrading it piece by piece is a different story then putting 500$ for a piece of foam + electronics from china with not much responsibility and customer care and no european sales or distribution. Europe is an even bigger market with highet pooulation density than the US so they should be able to have a solution. If not they fear european consumer rights and are unwilling to fullfill orders. MFD might be great but risks are too high - for me and I don't wanna spend so much for a bit of electronics in a cheap styrofoam fuselage. But: I like to see the success you'd achieved with the plain and thanks to your skills too - that I do not have ... for building, flying, repairing. The only thing I can do better than you for sure is ... crashing a plane one way or the other.
@ArxangelRC5 жыл бұрын
Hahaha, actually I do mention every now and again, that the Volantex gear could use replacing, especially the servos... but I've reviewed so many of their planes now, that at some point it should just be a known fact... I just get tired of repeating it! As for MFD... they do sag a bit on the customer support... but not because of lack of international experience! Not sure why actually... it is weird for me... but you do get some small issues every now and get... for the most part they get resolved! But I do get your point... but personally... if I have to wait for something to be stocked in the EU... might as well give up, as I would be the last to get it! I've accepted long ago that I should expect no help from China, even if something is wrong with the plane, and just fix it myself! 3D printing has certainly made that much easier... and even foam... I still can't make this plane myself... let alone make it look so good, or fly so well... not unless I make it my full time job to design one... which is not an aspiration at this time!

@ArxangelRC5 жыл бұрын
True... but there is no provision for the ESCs to be inside the fuselage of the plane... not enough power pins on the MPX connector for that, so the battery to ESC wires have to this long! From there, I am using ESCs from another project that have the connectors on the PCBs.. and even if they didn't... they would still have to be mounted in the nacelles... so makes no difference really, other than having to cut some foam to fish them out when I get to replacing the motors next week! :)
@daviddavids28845 жыл бұрын
@@ArxangelRC 'no provision'. lmao. 'power pins' wtf. COMMONSENSE prevails over 'no provision'. this logically flawed attempt to defend STOOPIDITY, says it ALL.
@ArxangelRC5 жыл бұрын
Not defending anything... just saying! In a design like this, where you have such connectors to provide power to the wing... you are limited by what the connector can do! In this case, the large power connectors on it, are only 2... which means that if you want to keep the ESCs inside the plane, which would help shorten the wires to the battery... you will have to run an external 3rd wire, for the 3rd phase of the motor, which kinda defeats of the purpose of this quick connector if you still have to fiddle with connecting and disconnecting additional wires when dealing with the plane! Furthermore... in so many years... having built quite a lot of these planes, and most have had the battery to ESCs wires to be the longer ones... I've never had or seen an issue with that! Keep in mind we are talking about pretty short lengths of wires here after all, even if they do appear long... with respect to the hobby... not sure you will start to see any actual issues until you go into the meters... lots of them! For a 30-40cm length of wire... unless it is pretty thin... I don't see how that can be an issue!
