@@fhb3 In central North Carolina on WRAL channel 5--ABC after American Bandstand followed by Soul Train went off, the very popular local show Teenage Frolics came on. The show, which was taped at WRAL-TV studios, played the latest soul and R&B and featured local African-American young people dancing. The show began taping in 1958, which was about 15 years before Soul Train came on the air. Frolics' host was JD Lewis. I remember the show and Mr. Lewis fondly.

I'm 53 myself, but I know what you are saying. 70 years is only 25,550 days and that ain't nothing. Life is short. The reason things now seem like a long time ago is because those in power keep changing the times. Everything now looks far different, and people in general are different than back then. The world is far different now, and it makes times past seem like long ago, though they weren't.

RIP Ronnie Baker the bass player on this song. He passed away in 1990. He also played for the Trammps( Disco Inferno ) This song started the Disco Era as I'm concerned. Listen to the drums and the bass. It is still not superceded by other disco songs and it was released in 1974.The drums and and the bass playing here became somewhat like the school for how drums and bass "should" be played to fit in to the all new Disco music. Long live the sound of The Mother F....ng Studio Band( MFSB ) as they called themselves back in the day (in a joking way)😊

I saw this record on vinyl at a store years ago, had never heard of MFSB before, but thought the cover looked cool and I picked it up for a few bucks. I remember putting it on the record player and instantly fell in love. I was very happy with the purchase ✌️🍁

What great memories this song brings! Our high school band would play this and all of us girls on the Flag Corps Squads, Majorities and Drill Teams would all choreograph our routines to this song! What a Blast it was! 1976 & 1977!
