I like @Dylanlange3267 question because My older brother and I sorta have this debate regularly (I’m 48 years old). I would consider myself part of the IWC because I’m more plugged in to wrestling outside of what’s shown on TV. My brother who has been watching wrestling almost as long as me is more of a casual because is he knows very little outside of what is on TV and what I find is that we view wrestling very differently and I’m a bit more critical of things than he is. But conversely when new wrestlers pop up or he is not aware of certain wrestling history (like Danielson and Nigel’s match, he never watch ROH so he is like who cares and why are people so hype for this), either it takes him a while to have interest or he doesn’t have any at all. The OG Bloodline minus Roman and Solo were a bunch of goofy misfits that had to be reeled in every now and then. Nothing wrong with that at all, it was actually entertaining as hell. Solo now is more of a tactical guy than the hired muscle, and obviously Jacob took his place but has more space to be a personality. G.O.D. are more ruthless than the Usos and in kayfabe are less likely to stumble on each other. It would give him a gimmick to run with, only have to wrestle part time while being on TV fairly constantly, and would give the TNA workers an established legend to work off of. He could manage wrestlers, bring them in to challenge for titles, help build feuds, and occasionally work in main events, even if that doesn't necessarily lead to title wins. Also, furthering NXT/TNA stories by getting over young up and comers coming out of TNA , helping their credibility. Just an idea, but would love to hear your/peoples thoughts...

Nah I also don't get it the the whole "Push Jay Movement", regular wrestler, has one catch phrase, not physical impressive. He is the type of guy that if he'd ever get the belt, in the next week a Lesnar will come and F5 him out of it. Look at Cody, Roman, Walter, he will never have that type of aura, he does not look like a guy that inspires fear/respect.

Cornette has never been successful in a management position, he's an incredible historian and a brilliant character, but he was never a great booker. Smokey mountain went out of business When he was on the WWF and WCW creative teams it was two of the worst periods from a business sense. He ran fans away from ROH OVW was the closest he got to success, but even then the people they trained all had to be repackaged on the main roster.

I think Jey Uso is so popular because of the theme song and, more importantly, because this is the closest that nerds will ever feel being on-beat to music. But I really like your explanation too.

Jey delivered a great character performance but that Jey and current Jey aren’t the same guy that’s why I’m not over into Yeet Jey at the moment. Once he starts working and actual character again that’s beyond Yeet man I’ll probably hop back on the “Main Event” train.

Listen to Beck’s Midnight Vultures and listen to Beck’s Sea Change. That’s the two Jeys. Same guy different place in life.
I cringe every time I see someone take an Alabama Slam.

Id argue sami was a better character than jey. You said every jey arc was great but Him vs jimmy made no sense at all, and produced a stinker of a match at mania.

I liked jey in the bloodline ... i dont like main event jey. He's a one note mid card clown crowd pleaser. Literally taking a page out of Koko B.Ware to the point that he owes him royalties. All he's missing is a parrot.

Jey is a tricky one. He has personality and can talk, but he's been stuck with this awful gimmick and catchphrases for a while. When he's serious he's good. He's also still so sloppy and awkward in ring.

Jey Uso is not a main eventer. Guys like Jey, Kofi, Gable, Ziggler, etc. are good wrestlers that the crowd latches onto because they appreciate how long they've been around, but also because they just want to see things shaken up and be less predictable. Kofi's title reign was bad, but he's great in a team. Jey is better in a team or faction as well. He's hot at the moment, but he's not a guy whose name makes people buy tickets. They're happy to see him, but he's just not that great. His current popularity is like a slightly elevated Virgil or Damien Sandow coming out from under an abusive situation, but he has more caché due to his tenure. If people think there's nowhere to go with Cody's title run, where would a Jey Uso win go other than right back into another Bloodline angle?

Dave Meltzer is nothing but a leech on the wrestling business. The fact that you don't understand that half of what Jim says is him just riffing and having fun says more about you than it does Jim.

I don't like Dave, like...at all. But Steve not enjoying something " its not him its you!" Dude Jim is very abrasive and isn't for everyone. " you have to like him or you're the problem." Esk logic. Steve pretty much said " I like orange juice ,he's selling apple juice " but the cult around Jim cannot fathom that he's too angry for some. Also his constant dives into politics and the shit he's said on that is psychotic. Which ...pushes people away
