I've see others use a small router with a chamfer bit and bearing to ease the holes...

I hear you regarding the 77 champhers and 2 blisters later. I wish there was a better way of doing that task with a drill. Contemplating other options the next time I replace my worktop.🤔

Interessantes Projekt.

Finally there is a new tool from UJK to chamfer the dog holes using a hand drill: www.axminstertools.com/eu/ujk-combined-chamfer-reamer-tool-for-20mm-dog-holes-107868

Interesting project. Best not to rely on either MDF or the PARF system for real accuracy- baltic ply and CNC holes are about good enough for dimensional accuracy but the former are not. Remember, the original MFT does not rely on dog holes for cutting- that is all referenced off the aluminium frame. I use dogs that are 21mm above the 20mm shaft- saves the need to chamfer and still work with most kit. An alternative is to use 3/4" holes, and dogs that are 20mm above the table.

Hi Mike, honestly I don't rely on the accuracy of the dog holes either. I mostly use the holes with clamps to get my shooting boards or fixtures clamped down on the table.

@@MKWoodworking Good to hear. There are several channels that promote MFT construction that can only lead to disappointment. Did you get your router section built?
@MKWoodworking3 жыл бұрын
@@Tensquaremetreworkshop Not yet. I have not decided if the router section will be part of the table or an attachment to the workbench for more flexibility..

@@MKWoodworking I found that having a fixed workbench with either MFT arrangement or router is inconvenient- it is often difficult to get a workpiece into place. I built a tablesaw/ router combination on a trolley, with a drop over MFT. Wheel into place and start cutting...

@@Tensquaremetreworkshop Hate to disagree with you both but I've found that if you use the Parf guide system correctly to layout and drill the holes that they are extremely accurate, square and parallel and can be relied on as a square reference for setting up and cutting parts with a track saw. Also extremely handy and accurate as a square jig table for assembling face frames and other like structures.
