Hi Helmuth. Enjoy your videos, however I try I don't achieve your results, any chance of you trying the suzuki ignis with the cvt, this transmission seems to be quite sophisticated for a budget car with an excellent ratio spread. Regards Alan.

Nice video.I have been driving electric cars for over 30 years.I am so old that I even used Pb batteries.For 15 years now its litium. There is a lot of "trues" in ev society that is not true for us who drives ev daily for many years. As you say, regenerating does not save energy in open road drives. I checked that many years ago, so now I have no regenerating at all in my ev.It mostly useless. Another issue that you dont mention, is that the weight of the car is not realy important .When I changed from Pb batteries to litium my car lost about 400 kg in weight.I was so excited and thought that the efficiency would increase with the lower weight. There where no change att all. At a distance for 50 km the consumption still was about 55-60 Ah. I was very dissapointed but fact is fact.The most important way, as you also say, to save energy is to never disturb the kinetic energy , let the car roll as much as possible.

I recently did Bristol to Southampton and back on a single charge. With sm very steep hills on the way. For both ways average consumption without air-con 4.4m/kwh. Not that bad I would say..

Hi, I'd like to, however, our local Nissan-Dealer isn't very cooperative and I won't get a car from him.

Is it better to drive on KERS 1 instead of 3? I thought having 3 charged the battery more?
@ecodriver17462 жыл бұрын
Where's the energy for charging coming from? The car is losing speed! And as you never regenerate what you had invested before it's always a loss of energy. Coasting as much as possible is the most efficient way of driving an EV. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5fKqH-vbNdgm6M kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqXFnaNqmsiin8U

@@ecodriver1746 so it is only good for the brakes??
@HugoViertutakk2 жыл бұрын
@@ecodriver1746 I watched the videos, and more of yours. Amazing videos really! I ordered my first ever electric car a couple of weeks ago (MG5 LR Luxury) and I am hyped beyond belief! So correct me if I am wrong, so regenerating (KERS) is only good to use if you HAVE to stop? Hence if I coast when I can and use KERS to stop my car (instead of ordinary braking), I am most efficient?
@ecodriver17462 жыл бұрын
No, even if you use the pedal to brake the car the electric motor is used. Only once the power to brake the car exceeds the regenerative capacity of the motor the mechanical brakes are used.

Reasonably priced, seems to be economical to drive, I guess this car will be a hit

Für BEV gilt Tempo 130 auf der Autobahn, nicht 100. Das ist dir sicher bekannt.
@ecodriver17462 жыл бұрын
Nein wirklich...

The video is very pixelated, otherwise very informative, and very fair appraisal of the MG5 estate. This is the most affordable EV in UK. and now has decent range.

It is pixelated because blurring every licence plate would be quite time-consuming ;)
