I have top end model, 5 months, 3.2K kms, its a great car so far, infotainment system touch sensitivity is an issue, ADAS not much usable in practical conditions, could used automatic parking only 2 times, adaptive cruze is not much useful, Emergency braking is most usable so far it prevented bumper to bumper collisions at low speed for about 3-4 times, driver fatigue warning got triggered for about 2 times, it accurately catches your sleepy behaviour while driving. Overall great experience with this car, thanks for your reviews in past, it helped in selecting this car.

Let’s talk facts and keep aside the tech and features it comes with, The twin turbo motor is an inhouse build by Shanghai motors, Transmission is sourced from ZF China not ZF Germany. Not many people have driven it for 2 lakh kms and no one has kept this car for almost 10 years as this is a new vehicle. It must be massive but i have questions about it’s reliability. This is my take on this vehicle, Let’s see what do you think.

Good Question but..ZF China or ZF Germany. End of the day ZF should have a quality standard which will be maintained globally. Even Tesla is manufactured in China. Does that mean just because its manufactured in china there is a quality difference from its US manufacturing? FYI even toyota uses its components which are manufactured in china & Philippines. Lets not pass judgements just because the "china" tag is attached to it. FYI majority of car companies even BMWs , Audis are now having their R&Ds in China NOT Germany. Hence the big Kidney Grills in BMWs which you see nowadays. Because BMW biggest market in the world is China for the past few years and the Chinese customers love big grills !!

I have owned a Gloster for over 8 months now with 19000kms run, so trust me when I say this that this car is totally worth the money you are going to pay for it. Also I would like to clarify something, this car is mainly comfort oriented so if you are someone who wants something more powerful and are willing to compromise over features, sunroof and comfort, you should choose Fortuner over Gloster, as it is said "There is no replacement for displacement".

True Toyota's are most reliable cars, but Toyota India has increased the product prices so much that it is no longer a first choice to people. The Interiors are so outdated that even if people want to buy it(despite it's price)they are put off once you compare to competative products. And don't even start that It's our governments rule, every country has same rule. US doesn't even allow sale of cars not manufactured in their country inless it's a 25 year old car. Hyundai has been such a success because they are serious enough for Indian market. Toyota can do the same but greed is stoping em to invest in India to manufacturer cars in India. No company come before countries interest, Toyota can exist India too if they wanna.

Now a days there are only two. Fortuner and gloster. Ford is out of india and alturus will be discontinued soon. Within these two rival fortuner has less space, less comfort, less features.. Not only that it is overpriced just because of it's reliability? Opposite hand gloster has everything in less price than fortuner. Now gloster reliability, you can't tell it is good or bad because it's just a one year company. So there are no comparison between them for reliability. Last concern is Chinese brand.. World safest and reliable car brand volvo is from China also....
