I'm rebuilding my engine and I decided to film the process of removal. Its not quite a step by step guide but I hope its helpful! Leave or comment or like if you found this helpful or if you have a question!

My first mg was an early 64 side curtained midget & the first time pulling the engine was painful. After that I learned to pull the engine and transmission a whole lot quicker as an assembly. Would take me 30-40 minutes to have it ready to lift... then I'd go get dad - one person to crank the boat winch bolted to a ceiling roof rafter while standing on the fender, one to guide the engine and transmission out while pushing the car out from under it. Had to break the carb side engine mount every time, hard to unbolt it. Try to get dad back in the house before a tv commercial ended. That car saw several engines & the first time asking the machine shop to take 60 thousands off the head I had to show him a copy of the MG Midget special tuning manual which if I recall recommended 70 thousands to prep for racing in its class. Deck the block what ever it takes to square it too.

The last one I did was stripped down at the front (all panels off) and I removed the head, all ancillaries and the gearbox, then put an old seat belt around my neck and lifted the block out because I didn't have an engine crane. My advice? Don't do what I did - it really hurts when you drop the block on your foot!

I have a random oil line right next to the distributor and cannot find where it goes. It looks like the line you removed for the oil cooler but the line is a high pressure line not a thick line like yours. My engine was rebuilt and the tag was lost so I can’t say what size it is. Can you help stop the leak

Adventures With Shifu it may be your oil pressure gauge line. It runs up to your gauge in the dash. They tend to leak, you just need to change the flexible hose as it may have worn over the years and possibly been exposed to brake/clutch fluid being in close proximity to the master cylinder reservoirs. This would have corroded the hose causing it to leak.

You don't actually show the removal of any of the parts, just the part after its been removed. Sort of takes away the point of the video.
