In this video, I remove the door cards from my car. I then re-trim them, and finally I refit the completed door cards to the car.

Hi bud, thanks a lot for putting this up. My CDTi door cards are now needing replacing so your How-To is dead useful.🙂 What area of material did you need for the four cards please? More specifically, what quantity did you order from AS Trim? Thanks.

Thanks for the comment! They sell the Milano foam backed as 1 metre x 1.5 metre sizes. I ordered 2 of these. Just check that it will be a continuous piece 2 M x 1.5 M. I think that is how the send it anyway, but better to check. I don’t think you could do it with just a one metre piece, you also really want to have the material running in the same direction. I messed up one door card, and destroyed the material when trying to unstick it. Good luck with it.

@@superjumboracingperfect info, thanks. I got a trial foam-backed swatch from AS which will work colour-wise, so am ordering in the next couple of days. I'll make sure to get one 2M x 1.5M piece. Car strolled through its MoT today so I'll get going with the cards soon. 🙂

Also meant to ask how many cans of adhesive did you use please?

Good news on the MOT! I ended up using around one and a half cans, but I messed up one door card and had to do it again. I think I used more adhesive than I maybe needed to, but I didn’t want the bond to fail. I think you could probably just use one can, but I can’t be sure on that. My most important tip, is to try and follow the dips in the door card, when putting the material on, and to try and get the material into the dips without stretching, if that makes sense? For instance, don’t lay the material flat down over the complete door card, then try and stretch it down into the dips/recesses.

If you had someone who could assist you, to hold the material as you work it down, that would be really helpful. I hope it goes well!

Hi, what make of spray glue did you use and where did you sauce the material from?

I ordered the material from AS trim. The material is the Milano foam backed in silver.

The adhesive is called Trim-fix adhesive, it has a temperature rating up to 110 degrees. It’s in a silver and red spray can.

Thanks for the comment. I have to admit I did all four door cards over seven days. I had to do a little bit when I had the time. I could probably have done them all in a day, but didn’t have a day to spare.

I don’t know how much someone would charge to do it, but I suppose it could be quite a bit!

Good luck with your door card project.

Many thanks for the heads up fella. Yeah I found someone to do it for 100 so quids in, I've purchased all the parts, plastic clips, HD glue etc but I'm guessing he's not aware of all the work required so have prepared myself in case I have to tackle it personally. With the awesome videos on here I'm already super confident
