Any fuse that is below the 3 vertical fuse they are all constant power, and the top 3 vertical fuse suppose to be accessory only on when you swith on the car (sit on the seat) (right one on the top vertical was empty, can use that one, I use that for my dash cam) I have pointed out in the video, might be I said it not so clearly, you can try to look at the video again

I ordered the Set and built it in. I'm almost finished i'm just witing for som connection parts to the fuse box. Everything is installed, just the power supply is missing. But now, withot power supply, the Tailgate can not be opend manually. Is this normal or is there already a fault? The distribution Plug is connected. Will it be fixed wehen power is connected? Or cant i open with the button on the tailgate from now on?

Thats a very good video, thank you! But I've got some questions: How many cables do I have to connect in the front fuse box? Are they just plugged in? In your version, how many cables do i need in the upper part of the backdoor? If something hits the switch on the ride, does the tailgate open up? I the upper plastic part you didn't remove easy to reinstall? Thanks for the answers!

Q1. How many cables do I have to connect in the front fuse box? Ans: 1 for the tail gate live all the time (MUST) , 1 for the front switch (light up the switch to ACC optional), 2 for the Kick sensor if you got one ( 1 to ACC and 1 to Live) if you got a Fuse that come have a cable stick out you connect it and pluck it in ( It does come with 1), I used 4 in my case Q2. In your version, how many cables do i need in the upper part of the backdoor? depend on how you install, if you put the controller box attached to the door, you will have a front switch, main power, trunk and the locking hook cable to go up, in my case I put in in the boot and hide it, (as I found getting the trunk cable up is horrible task, some one might find it easy) so I put 1 cat 5 cable and and reconnect 1 door lock control (3 cables) and 1 door release control cable Q3. If something hits the switch on the ride, does the tailgate open up? You need to hold the front button for 2 seconds before it open up, when driving and you hold it for 2 second I bet it will open, but I never try. and not happened to me yet..(touch wood) Q4.I the upper plastic part you didn't remove easy to reinstall Very easy in fact, just have to remember remove the cap on the door lock FIRST ( I always forgot , and there is a screw inside the handle compartment. hope you found the answer make sense. If you still have problem I can always make some more video to explain

Is there a manual that comes with the set? Do you still have it and is it possible that you could send me a copy of it by mail? Yes You need to drill hole on where you wanna install that button is the bad thing, just select where you can replace easily not the location as my back button, but sorry there are no manual at all, my video do better manual then it comes with( that the reason I made a video)…

Hi, I'm thinking of buying an MG4, I'm sick of my I-Pace breaking down. However did you check to see if these mods would invalidate your 7 year warranty.

no not really check, but even if it void it should only void the part that is relating to my alteration ( to my understanding, definitely not the body work, battery or even motor). My MG4 so far so good (touch wood), but I notice that when I open the under cover there a bit of rust on some place, near the motor cover but not on the body. I thought I-pace is a very good car tho. The size will shrink a lot form I-pace to MG4? Only 1 thing I dont like about it is the seat doesn't lay down totally or near flat especially front seat..( all my previous car does), as I always carry a lot of big stuff as I am a very DIY person

This is great!! Quick question, can you bypass the motors and just pull it open yourself if you're in a hurry? Or likewise, can you shut it yourself manually or do you have to let the motors do their thing?

Also, what happens in the event of an obstacle? Do the motors stop and restart the process? Is there any phantom draw from the motors that will long-term drain your 12V supply?

@@NathanGarryCooper 1).for obstacle it stop if you press it again it will goes up I have tested myself. 2). You can close it your self too….. just need some force… 3). Basically manually moving should be fine but not advise (I don’t know will it cause damage if you do it too much). It does goes up pretty quick. 4). I don’t think there is a phantom in this system. ( I am not the seller so I don’t have any info in it sorry)

what do you mean by too tight? no gap? in that case you need to move the locking part more toward to the end of the car..(bottom locking parts.. it will auto adjust.. hope this help .. I know its a bit late.. Sorry

Hi, your video gives an overall good idea for how the installation is done. I’ve ordered a kit myself. Sadly there’s no installation manual inside the box. Do you happen to have an installation manual for this kit into an MG4? (pdf would be great) I actually have only one issue: the buttons each have 3 wires. Both buttons have 1 of those 3 wires loose. The front button had a brown wire and the rear button a long green wire. I think those are wires for the CAN signal. Any idea where to connect them? Or is it to hook up to the central locking switch button in the drivers door? Thanks in advance

Great video, but after following tutorials on mgforums the place that you have the black wire earthed in the fusebox is not actually grounded to the car chassis....it needs moving to under the upper right bolt.

I moved that to the bolt near the charging port inside the car above the wheel

I really like your install work but would like to ask if you are not aware of any permanent power plug in the trunk, so that I would not need to open the dash and carry the cable from front to back. I really don't need the front button, but if necessary could be resolved with an RF switch. In addition, could you confirm that the listed set from aliexpress does contain the foot sensor. Really, good job. Very brave and good job.

Hi 👋🏻 well the kit I have contain the foot ( paid extra can have it without ) sensor which I still have no time to install completely …. I got my set from taobao directly from China, which I have no much idea what they are selling from Ali express, but Ali express is basically uk Taobao . Yes if you can find any permanent power from the back ( might be the door open switch) you can also use it so no need to wiring from front to the back, but if you have a dash cam you need that anyway, also you will need to check the fuse it use as well as I am putting it own fuse for the tail gate . Hope this help👍

I asume it will open as you can open it from inside..... I bought it from taoboa in china and ship over( very complicated) , you can try ali express.
