Binondo update as of June 09, 2024
Manila is undergoing urban renewal that aims at transforming the capital into one of the world's premiere tourism hubs.
Many historic buildings are undergoing restoration works such as the century old Santa Cruz Church, Juan Luna building, the old American Chambers of Commerce building and Intendencia building. Also under construction is the Binondo Canal and Chinese Pagoda project which is expected to be completed this year.
All these initiatives are part of the ongoing effort to revitalize the capital to attract more local and foreign tourists.
The old district of Binondo houses several historical
buildings that still stand until today. Some of them have already been restored while others are still awaiting restoration.
Manila has immense potential to become one of the top tourism hubs in the world. The city is known for its rich and diverse cultural heritage, and historical landmarks, which attract tourists from all over the world.
Furthermore, the best thing our government can do now is to preserve and protect these historical places and promote sustainable tourism practices.

Dapat bago ang restoration project inuna muna ng gobyerno ang pag underground cabling ng mga overhead powerlines mas mainam kc kung lahat ng utilities ay naka underground kahit di kagandahan ang isang lugar umaaliwalas ito at malinis tingnan.

It’s too bad that during ww11, there were soo many infrastructure were bomb. So I believe the rest that were not destroyed should be cared and rehabilitate because those building is part of Philippine history in short they are national treasure. Old and new building it’s one of Manila’s great appeal. TAKE CARE!😊❤

Sana sa mga bagong buildings na itatayo ay isunod sa Neo Classical o Beaux Arts design mga natitirang mga heritage buildings para mapanatili ang character at ambience ng Binondo at maibalik ang glory ng Old Manila before WW2 na nasira ng gera...mas sisigla ang lugar ng Binondo dahil magiging tourist destination ito lalo na kapag nagtayo ng maraming cafes n restaurants at iba pang commercial businesses like hotels n call centers n condominiums

Sana ma-reconstruct yung mga old buildings or kahit baguhin lng exterior or facade to restore the classic design of structures. Maganda rin if ma-pedestrianized ang Escolta at make it a shopping walkway full of branded stores, cafes and restaurants.

Sana higpitan din ang planning regulation at building codes sa parteng iyan ng Manila. For example ang mga susunod na gusali ay dapat similar sa hitsura ng mga iyan para tugma sa character ng lugar na yan

ang problema sa ilang Filipinio architects n building owners dito sa Binondo ay d sumusunod sa architectural style n design ng lugar dito sa Binondo....they rather build modern modern high rise buildings n skyscapers adjacent to these historical or heritage buildings.,..unlike in other countries they try to preserve their cultural heritage by blending their new structures to the design or style of the structures in the area giving the area a sense of harmony n uniformity

Sana ayusin din ang mga kuryente/wires na takaw pansin. Kalinisan, kaayosan, flowering plants, low prices on clothes (as in Bangkok), electronics (as in Singapore), and accomodations, etc (as in Hong Kong), then Manila will hopefully be on tourists' travel list. Nakakalungkot lang na ginagaya nang Manila ang European designs instead of Filipiniana.

Yung mga pangit na 1970's brutalist buildings ang dapat gibain at hindi yung mga American colonial era buildings. Manila should have a standardised architectural style for Binondo and Santa Cruz area,

The city of Manila does not look inviting at all with all those dangling and unsightly cables strewn all over the place. Those ugly cobwebs of cables creates an impression to outsiders of a chaotic and disorganised city, of a corrupt and inefficient government
