I have never disliked comparisons between Rap Devil and Killshot, what hurts me is when people judge the two for what they aren't. They are disses, not songs. In diss songs one needs to say truthful offensive shit, things that make the opponent look worse. I grew up listening to Eminem, and became a major fan of MGK after rap devil, because while Killshot was full of double meanings and lyrically complex bars, there was nothing that took away from Rap Devil and MGK. I do believe that Killshot was the better written one, but not a word in it made me look at MGK and think "Really? He is that kind of person? That's fucked up." MGK had the better disses, and that's not even my opinion, every single rapper and commentator of hip hop has said that Rap Devil was a better diss track. Even the videos that breakdown the two songs and compare them only mention rhyme schemes and double entendres.. but a beef ain't a contest of skills.. it's an open attack between rappers, and MGK is the only one that came with bullets. Anyway, that's only my opinion. Love the reaction, and one day, we'll get you to say you're a fan of mgk ahah
@linzym.nunezc.12074 жыл бұрын
This is EXACTLY what I've been saying. Eminem's diss is so well put together, the lyrical context is great, but not for a diss track. A diss is supposed to be based on facts in order to really hurt and Em called MGK a mumble rapper. That's when I knew he lost the fight, cause that ain't true at all. MGK, on the other hand, adresses lots of facts during the whole diss, ppl tought his lyrical content was "weak" cause Em has complex bars, as you said, but that's not really what a diss is about.

Kill shot missed because 1. MGK's career is bigger than ever right now. MAYBE it was a leg shot.. temporarily threw him off / slowed him down for a moment.. but did not Ja-Rule beef -end his career. The most important thing to know though is... SUBJECT MATTER matters. Eminem raps fast as fuck, he uses a large vocabulary and double - triple entendre very well. He has a huge cult following. He is almost untouchable... but MOST of his songs in the last 10 years are pointless. There is nothing in them I relate to or care about. Sometimes being overly complex just to be overly complex doesn't make a song good. Rapping at 5x speed doesn't make the song good. His rap skills are good but doesn't mean the SONG itself is good -to me.

I think the main issue with your review/reaction of Rap devil is that you did it in your car, I’ve noticed in your car videos, you end up missing a lot of bars or mishear things. That said, Throughout Rap Devil, MGK used Eminem’s famous songs and even his own lyrics against the man, The beard is weird line is a direct reference to one of Em’s songs as well. The basic theme of both disses are essentially MGK revealing that Emininem blackballed him and tried to Stifle his career, while Eminem basically fires back with “You’re jealous of my career and wish you could be me.” His stans ate it up because of his lyrical, miracle, spiritual lyricism that for some reason means the world in a diss battle, but only when Eminem is involved.

2nd comment: The number is considered so unlucky that more than 80% of hi-rise buildings in the US don't have a 13th floor (or one labeled as such). The vast majority of hotels, hospitals and airports avoid using the number for rooms and gates as well. Hotel Diablo is a concept album. "Hotel Diablo" represents Kells' mind as a whole. Each song is a different room in his head containing the traumas and dramas and addictions that have formed him. For the purposes of this song, Floor 13 of Hotel Diablo is the place in MGK's mind that he pretends doesn't exist or tries to avoid - the dark corners, ugly thoughts, bad memories. In his own words, he has said "To me, and the reason it’s patched in on the back of my head and tattooed there, is because Hotel Diablo, it was right here-it was inside my head. The real you is never the perfect side of you. The real you is the honest side of you, and my honesty in going through my earlier years and in my 20s, it was dark."

It's an actual thing for most buildings. I build high-rises and the blueprints generally also skip floor 13. Goes straight from 12 to 14

Killshot was a toeshot compared to what he's done in the past with beefs. If you go into it listening to the beef without thinking EM is god you will see MGK said more truths and EM just said he was rich and that he would be rich himself compared to young mgk. I've listened to EM since 99 but MGK was right over the beef.

I work in a hotel and there is no 13th floor, nor do any of the floors have a room 13. Omitting the 9th floor. They have a 913, but no 911 for telephone reasons.

On a non bias stand point MGK did say that that there isnt anything Em can do to him and frankly even after killshot mgk just flaunted his multi-genre talents even more. Both songs(rap devil and killshot) were good but no one got hurt. You also seem to like him more because you were less defensive than you were in the previous vids Van.

and that article didn't state she was underage. It said look at her all grown up. EM has taken a ton of shots at underage girls back when he was on drugs. He talked trash to about almost every female singer/actress back in the day.

Actually, Em has stated that the beef wasnt even about the post about his daughter. He said, and I quote, "It was much more petty than that". He said it was because of a shot MGK took at him in a song he did with Tech N9ne, where he says "yall just rap, you're not gods" Em said he even disregarded that until MGK went on to make a social media post where he felt it was directed towards him personally. But regardless of who did what, I just know its heartbreaking to some of us who are diehard fans of both. Each of them have a strong and loyal fan base and both are beyond talented in their own ways. The power these 2 could have had together wouldve been insane!
@ICP1SBJ4 жыл бұрын
@@somebody19XX wrong the beef was because of his daughter and that he barred him from coming on Shade45 along with other things he did to blackball him.. Yes EM replied after the Tech N9ne song but the beef started cause of the post about his daughter.
@somebody19XX4 жыл бұрын
@@ICP1SBJ ok maybe a bad choice of wording on my part, because "the beef" between the 2 initially was started because of the post. However, I think you misunderstood what my point was... I was referring to the first comment that said "all he said before that was that his daughter was hot" because that was not all that was said. So yes, MGK was defending himself in everything he said, but all em did was defend himself also. Like I said, I'm fans of both. I love and respect both of them, so I am not defending or attacking either artist or their fans in any way. I cant and wont argue a side completely for or against either one because I both agree and disagree with things they both have said and done. I was just clarifying that wasnt the only thing that had happened for anyone that might not know because a lot of people dont.

@@somebody19XX nah ems being petty the root of the beef was because of his daughter.

Hotels stopped putting “Floor 13” on hotels because back in the day there were a lot of suicides on the 13th floor in hotels and it’s considered a bad luck number like Friday the 13th

He hurt him but kill shot wasn't a kill shot it was false advertisement lol. Don't get me wrong Em is dope but who did Em ever go at that was a lyricist/ real hip hop artist? Ja was told to hold his tongue for legal reasons and Canibus was already on his way out cus LL so who did he ever really beef with? ICP? Benzino that had artists dissing him already? His mom? Who has he really had a beef with? Then he comes out with kill shot and MGK had a rebuttal for pretty much his whole track like the man bun he had that for a movie. Kill shot was a wond. Again not saying Em isn't one of the best lyricist but he was never really tested in beef
