When I was an active addiction getting drunk every day this type of music soothed me. I felt hopeless and I commiserated with this type of depressive hopeless music. Now seven months sober and grateful, I just don’t feel good listening to this sort of stuff anymore.

This song is sad it’s for people with no hope. I’ve been there. Just remember one of the keys to happiness is having something to look forward to. It’s easy to get stuck on the past, but it’s in your past for a reason, and your past doesn’t have define who you are today.. you can turn a corner.

I really loved your comment! I've been in such a dark place just like the words in this song they cut deep when you were 1yr sober from opiates(oxy pills) I relapsed because I felt so hopeless and I just wanted to escape from it all. Your comment actually put tears in my eyes. Because I'm trying so hard to see the good in this life but I'm not seeing it at all... But like I said I'm seriously trying my hardest to fight through my addiction. It's had me crying my eyes out for the past 3-4 days even today. I'll get to that good place again I was just so strong not to relapse for a whole year! And now I feel like I'm back at the bottom once again. but thank you very much for your comment it helps more than you know!!! ❤

@@ashleygray5239 You’re doing good! Keep trying, eventually you won’t even think about using. Trust me. Try to pick up a new hobby. When I decided to go sober, I had so much extra free time, so I started doing my hair/makeup everyday, eventually a couple of ppl asked me to do their makeup for a concert and paid me, so I decided to do a cosmetology apprenticeship and got a free education. All that happened bc I quit getting high and picked up a hobby. When it comes to finding the good in things.. what helps me is remembering that “everything has a positive and a negative” when I start thinking negative I make myself think of the positive in the situation. For example the positive of a long term friendship ending are the lessons they taught you, or the good memories y’all shared, and/or not having fake friend in your circle anymore. The possibilities are endless but I promise you there’s more than one positive to every negative

I've been a fan of his since 2011, my parents bought my first mgk Ticket they are no longer here, lost her the way he lost his aunt and lost him the same way he lost his dad... But I kept going to any and every show I could. Didn't matter if it was a show I already seen, states away... I was there. To this day I've been to so many shows I no longer know how many times I've seen him live but it's my peaceful place. The whole experience takes me to a place where I love to be and wish I could stay forever. I listen to him every single day, know every song, word for word. I relate to him in so many ways, I feel his pain and hurt that's festered inside him because I myself know those feelings all to well. The day I met him was one of the best days of my life, got to talk to him and make him smile, will never forget the conversation we had. I've followed his life, know everything there is to know about him, every album he puts out I'll listen to it over and over never skipping a track because I wanna hear it in the order and way he wanted it. I feel deeply for him as a person and artist, some people can't or won't understand it but It doesn't phase me. He's helped me in so many ways from overcoming addiction, childhood trauma, being a loner and black sheep in my family which I never felt truly part of. I put so many people onto mgk, knew he was a rare gem the first time I heard him, the day I met him, told everyone he was gonna be huge and even he didn't think it. He gave this shit his all to get where he is, to accomplish all that he has and to be taken as a joke is heartbreaking and then to not be happy or enjoy any of it....really makes me sad. Also knowing so many fans that were fans since the beginning fall off and no longer believe in him or wanna be fans because he's changed, evolved... That's some shit in it's own... because he's only human. I personally could never. I pray for him and his peace and happiness. Don't wanna lose him or his music because he thought he wasn't enough or this is the end for him because I don't believe that. I enjoy this album like I have all the others before it, seeing a side of him not alot of people knew was there. ❤ EstForLife 💋

My god I know exactly how you feel! I'm a recovering addict also or I was for a whole year I didn't relapse and just a few days ago I relapsed and it's so hard to find the strength to stop again... This song cuts deep when you're an addict for the rest of your life. I'm in the worst darkest place I've ever been in and I'm trying so hard to see the point in all of this being sober from opiates(oxy pills) & taking the pills knowing that it could be fentanyl my biggest fear is dying from fentanyl because I've never touched it ever because I was always so scared of it because it took the lives of some really good people i once knew. they weren't bad people they were just broken like we all are. Happy people don't do drugs we are the hopeless ones. But we all will get back to that good place we were once in being sober and being so proud of yourself.& Now I just cry everyday because I just can't see a way out of this once again I'm at the very bottom of my life hating myself and hating using but keep doing it anyway. Sorry for complaining so much I just really loved your comment!!! I definitely relate to what you said. Also congrats on being sober for 6 months that's really awesome I promise you! I know it's not easy believe me I know... But you can do this don't give up ever. Please don't...❤ Edit: oh I reread your comment 6 fuckin years omg I don't know how you did it and continue to do it for yourself geez but that's so amazing deep in my heart and head I want years like that but it feels like I'll never get there even when I was sober for 1 year it was still so hard a daily struggle for life. I hope I get there though either I do or I'll end up dead just like all the others. Your comment cut deep but I can relate to what you said.thank you it helps more than you know!!! ❤❤

@@ashleygray5239 you can do it, I promise. I remember clawing at the walls trying to get 3-4 days sober. Feeling hopeless getting months or a year and fucking it up. Relapse is part of recovery. It happens but let’s get back to recovery. To be honest there’s a lot of tools out there… if you want to stop. You can. I was on suboxone 2 of my 6 years. There’s the shot… how ever you choose to do it. I believe in you. It’s possible. I want you to post on this comment in a few months telling me you are clean again (tip) find something that makes you feel valuable to yourself, or someone else. My girl getting pregnant was all I needed to stop. Didn’t want another generation growing up with no father because of drugs. Find that for yourself.

@@ashleygray5239 Hey there, friend. I want to say I'm proud of you. I'm proud of you for worrying and trying to keep the control over your. And I AM PROUD of you, sober or not. Just like you should be. Just like I know you must be. Let go of the doubt. I hope you get everything that you're looking for. Another thing - Of course there's always a possibility that one time the drugs will kill you. But remember that things like traffic or other accidents are also common ways to die. I'm saying, don't worry about what might go wrong. Just try your best. That's all you can do. And it's enough. If you won't be lucky, one time in the future... at least you know for yourself that you did what you could. It might all turn out to be ALRIGHT. And it will get better the sooner you let go of the worries. Don't worry about the future and the possible bad outcomes. Believe in your strength. I know that it's part of the decease of addiction, that willpower doesn't exclude you from becoming an addict: but you know how to heal yourself! You've proven you can get yourself out of anything. Just like you have been doing all this time. A relapse could lead to getting worse, but now it's still just a moment of "weakness. " That's why I need you to remember the power of your strength, your willpower and your mindset. You have power. Addiction is nothing without you. Drugs can't get to you if you don't let them. And you don't need them. It's very important you trust in your strength and abilities again. That's the key to getting better. Get better soon ❤️ You can do it. And I know you know that. But you just needed a reminder. The rest you can handle. You've survived it all before. Fuck the dangers, BC you're a mother fucking super hero. I wish you all the courage in the world, my friend 🙏And all the love. Go protect and claim the life you deserve! 🫶 Please... 🥺❤️🩹 From one super hero human to another 🫶😎 This is coming for someone with OCD, very similar experience to addiction. Once I started giving myself credit for surviving time and time again, I let go of the idea I only survived and stayed "strong" - somehow but idk HOW?? Or for how long - because I had to. We make our own decisions in the end. Maybe not what we start, but how we end it and if we will continue or get better. Giving yourself credit for your sacrifice and strength will hand you back your power. And I wanted you to know that things got better and I'm doing well. It's possible. Just like a month ago I almost killed myself. You'll prove yourself wrong. Life will surprise you. You will shock yourself so many times. Don't worry, you'll be so damn proud of yourself again. And why not feel proud of yourself now? Try to say: what the hell. And think positive despite your doubts or your odss. Don't look back 🥹🙏 Thank you for reading my essay! I will finally go to bed now 😂

(Lyrics) Let go, so let go...and jump in. Oh well whatcha waiting for? Its alright cuz there's beauty in a breakdown. 4am, I'm nodding off (breakdown) Hope this wasn't fentanyl (in a breakdown) Hide behind this camouflage (breakdown) It's always my fucking fault (in a breakdown) I don't want to let go, let go. (Let go, so let go) (And jump in. Oh well whatcha waiting for?) I'm never going to let go, let it go. (Its alright cuz there's beauty in a breakdown) I'm suffering from boredom in suburbia. I need a hit of euphoria. I'm stuck in Disturbia. I got this pain in my gut like a hernia. I got the jitters, they're worrying. I don't take out, I just order in. Cross the Arizona border and ship across the sand like the Mandalorian. 21 days clean, I won't break a habit. 22 days later, I'm a fucking addict. Lost a real one, so I went and got him tatted. Can't eat, can't sleep, life doesn't matter. Cultivated in the seven layers cuz my family's cursed for seven generations. In the numerology, I'm here to break it but the voice inside of me won't entertain it. There's a part of me that stopped embracing any memory so I'm trying to erase them. The medicine doing damage to my brain cuz the pain is too present, I'm trying to be vacant. Uppers and Downers are keeping me up until... (Its alright cuz there's beauty in a breakdown) Baby I won't let you go. I promise that I see right through the smoke. Loving you is not a joke. That's why I laugh at devilish hoes. There's not a moment that we had I won't feel for. Not a moment that we had I wouldn't kill for. Not a moment that we had I wasn't built for. Good vibes only that's fo sho'. I'm a hot boy, colder than the snow. (I swear) I had to let you know. I can see the crows. Death is down the road. 4am, I'm nodding off (breakdown) Hope this wasn't fentanyl (in a breakdown) Hide behind this camouflage (breakdown) It's always my fucking fault (in a breakdown) I don't want to let go, let it go. (Let go, so let go) (And jump in. Oh well whatcha waiting for?) I'm never going to let go, let go. (Its alright cuz there's beauty in a breakdown)

When this came out I was homeless, on drugs, and then jail. I now have a house, job, and husband. This song and “Clover Cage - In the Moment” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better. We are in this together..I love you 💕🎉
