Looks like another winner from Vanguard. Like the new features and still at a very reasonable price.

Yes, even the older models will do the same as this one, just some little tweaks on this version that made some simple improvements over the older models, But yes this is the best one as of now.

Excellent video! Can you flatten the legs out (spread out) so that the camera can be close to the ground, for example for mushroom photography or is using the centre post at a low angle the only option?
@mgmoats4 жыл бұрын
Yes the legs can go straight out so the base of the tripod can sit right on the ground, and the center is horizontal and the camera can be set right on the ground if you need to. Here's a link to Hunt's Photo where they are expecting to get the tripod in stock next week, and they are giving 10% off. -Vanguard Veo 3+ 263AB-10% off (Expected arrival 10/23) www.huntsphotoandvideo.com/detail_page.cfm?productid=VEO3263AB&mfg=Vanguard&show=yes&sp=WGsOq

Hey Yogesh, I would go with the VEO3+, but Vanguard is coming out with a VEO3T, which has the same features as the VEO3+ but designed to be more compact for travel photographers. I will have a video on that tripod when it is available in stores, which should be very soon.

If i use this in food photography, i'd like to take top view photo of the scene and i need to position the camera in center. I am gonna move the horizontal bar all the way to the left. Does is affect the balance of the tripod? Should a attach some weight to end of the bar?
@mgmoats2 жыл бұрын
If you are shooting on a table move the tripod as close as you can to the table edge and you should not have to extend the camera out too far. But yes, the option would be to add weights.

They are all very nice when new, how about after 8 month of constant use. Is it still in one piece?
@mgmoats3 жыл бұрын
Paul, you would have to see and feel the tripod to see the quality. I wouldn't recommend a tripod that would fall apart in 8 months. I still own the last version, Alta Pro 2+ and it's still working great after years of use.

The Benro SystemGoPlus tripod series have practically the same features as this tripod does. Also the monopod is included. It looks like that the legs of this new tripod look somewhat thinner in diameter than the AltaPro. What is your impression on that?
@mgmoats4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Robert, the legs are the same diameter as the Alta Pro. In the past I had used a Benro that had a center post that did also go horizontal, but they had discontinued that model after I started using it, so I wasn't aware that they redesigned it.

@@mgmoats Thanks Mike. I was wondering in part what the VEO stood for in relation to the Alta Pro. And I got the answer on the Vanguard site. They consider the VEO a travelling series of tripods!!! Not for my kind of travel. Too long and too heavy. And of course there is the price difference. But I am still very tempted to buy it because it looks like what I am looking for. I am afraid of regretting it though because I got a lighter mft system, specifically to have less weight, so...

Hi Mike, thanks for reviewing the video, I am looking to buy this model but I have confusion between AP (pan head) and AB (ball head)models. Pan head (www.vanguardworld.com/products/veo-3-263ap-aluminum-tripod-with-panhead) I am not sure this helps my photography, especially for LANDSCAPE, PRODUCT SHOOT, MICRO photography. Can you please share your thought. BR - Shashi

I would never go with a pan head, to many controls to move the camera into position. They have another tripod coming up any day that is the same features as this one, and more compact for travel. I will have a video on it, once they are in the stores.
