I've got chills. A girl I've met said she saw MGMT at the Guggenheim and she said it was beautiful. I let my mind wonder on that but now I think I know what she meant.

@RydetheTyde I totally agree with you! The reaction of audiences are completely divided. Most of all expected they play " Kids" " Time To Pretend", thus they are disappointed. In fact quite many people started chatting during MGMT playing. Yes, this tune is extraordinarily long. However, rest of audiences ( specially people near to the stage) were intoxicated with this.

thats what i love about mgmt, as psychedelic groups mature the psychedelic tends to get "darker" sounding.. more chaotic? but not mgmt.. they have such a natural ear for quirky bizarre catchy melody. its growth from the last to albums, but its still the same mgmt. mischievous playful whimsical weirdness.

@InGlacialWays12 жыл бұрын
I think that the early poppy music came from an extremely inexperienced, young band with natural melody. Since then they've big mastering music theory, so you hear new complex progressions and even more creative musical "clothing". You can really hear how much devotion is given to learning how to write music.I still think that the time will come when they'll be envious of their old ability to make amazing simple pop. Would be amazing if this was released at 45 min..Sibreaks is too f.ucking short

If this is any indication of what their new album is going to sound like... then I look forward to it. They should totally release an album upwards 3 hours or something.. considering everything is digital anyway... couldn't cost too much to record a shitload of new material when there isn't much demand for physical copies of albums these days.
