It's complicated.. Lol. I'm sure I. Their personal life, it's not all sunshine as with everyone else. However.. The period we live in is losing it's spirit. The spiritual famine is here. Hence our little dark age. Everything lost it's charm. I think the music is representative of that. Back when we were teen/adults these truths were doubted. We still had that "I'm invincible feeling" yet something was missing. Now as adults we see the strings on the puppet. Learning our dreams are irrelevant if the spirit is lost. The dying you speak of could be the loss of this.. The meaning of life. Or I could be wrong. Their songs always seem to represent dealing with life's changes or lack there of.

To me this perfectly catches the flux of depression. When twinklings of peace and joy emerge with spiritual potency only to pass into echoes again, and after it's been circled through enough times even bliss feels transparent, with dark emptiness sighing behind it. I fucking love this song and it makes me think how is sentimental to grow old listening to mgmt. I was 13 years old discovering time to pretend, with all that teenages vibes and all what that song says... now as an adult listening in the afternoon and that amazing piano solo makes me feel the same amazement as when I was 13

This universe is a stage, you must look beyond it to begin to understand the purpose. The future is written in our dreams and when we awake we go back to pretending. When I saw through your eyes did you even know I was there, did it cross your mind that I am is always watching in all ways.

It’s like a mixture of 60’s psychedelic rock, mixed with a side of 70’s punk, and the synth of the 80’s. Finally, with a dash of 90’s rock, and early 2000’s sound. It’s a cesspool of beauty. I absolutely love it.
@thechief56702 жыл бұрын
People think screamo, metal, hard rock, punk, grunge etc are the most dark and emotional music genres. MGMT on their self titled and LDA absolutely encapsulate a very dark and introspective soundscape that hits harder than any of the other genres.
