Tbf, while I don't entirely disagree, these are also a captured footage of isolated moments. I mean, I do remember the time as more carefree (though I was a literal child so don't take my word for it) but looking back there was also a lot of paranoia and jingoism around 9/11 and later the economic crash.

@@KarlSnarks There was a bit of fear after 9/11 but after a year or 2 it was back to normal, same with the 2009 crash after 2-3 years (there's always something to fear). The 2000s was a different universe, the biggest difference is there was so much more unity and less social tension.

They say it was made as a joke, but it seems like what actually happened is they got hired by a record label and given a very short amount of time to make a project, but within those constraints It honestly seems like they took their writing very seriously, and have since struggled to have anything as successful as that first album. Idk, maybe it was just a joke but they can’t seem to recreate it.
