Did I dream before? It felt like I couldn’t love any more Entire symphonies A holy light was gifted to me Any time the music plays And morning comes to wash it away Then I can sing for you Every day if you want me to do Oh, a needle in the reeds Staying right ahead of me All the little drops of dew I wanna go collect them for you And every time the tears begin The morning sun is there in your hands And I will sing for you Every night if you want me to do And I will sing to you Every night if you want me to Yes I can sing to you Every night if you want me to do

This is shameless self-promotion but for those who may be interested, I released a cryptid-themed concept album last year and though it's a lot more lo-fi than any of MGMT's expertly-produced stuff, I think in parts it has quite a similar vibe to Loss Of Life. MGMT are one of my favorite bands, so that kind of makes sense haha. And somehow I managed to get one of my musical heroes Michael Ivins (a founding member who played bass in The Flaming Lips for 38 years before his departure in 2021) to collaborate with me on my Mothman song despite being an obscure indie musician in Ohio who has very little money to work with and like 3 fans! Also, I've only played live once, at an acoustic open mic. By the way, Michael and his partner Julia (who formed an amazing new band called The Lolly Bombs) are currently working on a remix of that same Mothman song, which I plan to release independently (thank goodness for DistroKid and Bandcamp!) as part of a "Mothman Remixed" EP later this year. I think it would be hilarious and amazing if I managed to get another one of my absolute favorite artists on board to that project, despite me being broke and disabled and obscure, so if MGMT or either of its members wants to do a Mothman remix just for fun please let me know, I would be honored! I figured I'd add this because so far, being totally preposterous has worked incredibly well for me. Five years ago I was making music but I never would have thought I'd complete a cryptid-themed concept album that I'm incredibly satisfied with AND collaborate on a Mothman ballad with someone who played on my favorite album of all time (The Soft Bulletin, which is like The Flaming Lips' equivalent of Loss Of Life, and also had Dave Fridmann involved in production, the absolute genius!). If you read this to the end, give yourself a great big congratulations! EDIT: Ooh one more thing, can't believe I almost forgot to include this! One of the artists I'm collaborating with on that remix EP, Garden Gate... A lot of her music sounds a lot like the vibes of Loss Of Life, with the sorta medieval synthy sort of sound. Definitely check out her album Bonfires & Flower Crowns and new album Magic Lantern! In fact, I think it may even be better for MGMT to collaborate with her sometime rather than me haha! Or she would be a great opening act on tour! Just sayin!
