You know what? I'm impressed that the AI doesn't just completely shit the bed when you get this glitch. So many games, impossible states like this just break the game completely. It is a testament to the technical team that the enemy AI isn't just script to do one thing. It tries its best to fight even when this definitely should never have happened.

My thoughts: Sniper wolf is programmed to instantly shoot you with 100% accuracy if you don't have the sniper rifle equipped. This is to prevent you from rushing the hallway. Once the sniper rifle is equipped, her speed drops and she begins acting like the boss fight. Ergo, by glitching the sniper rifle into your hands and being able to still walk, the game assumes you are lying prone, so she stops gatekeeping the hall.

These kind of things make me wonder. Isn't it ironic that you can get past there but you still need a sniper rifle (so you still cant even save Meryl or make it appear as if you might). How does this all function as well as it does being able to punch her too? And then she falls off the platform but the game still doesn't break!? no instead she continues without problem on the lower floor when she usually doesn't go there.

I think I've seen it done on twin snakes but I assume you need the sniper rifle at least in your infintory in the original.
