Yeah I also felt that they were saying "Hi, we see you, we are here :)" Doesn't make much sense though but I think it was a moment to create a lot of fear for the player. I hunkered down under a vehicle sniping the dog boss for example :P

All of them were the only problem I ever had was crying wolf fighting mantis was kind of disappointing fight

All of them were very easy. Of course as a kid I enjoyed and was defeated by them so many times. But now they are not a really match. Even the crying wolf could look like the best boss fight unless you got a misile launcher.. this game just provide you with so many weapons, ammo and healthy rations, I recommend to play with own restrictions. For example in the Vamp fight I use only knife and smoke.

The sounds that played when Screaming Mantis took control of that dude literally send chills down my spine every single time . The whole B&B unit have extraordinarily fantastic sound design, Crying Wolf is my favorite.

@@M.Y.K-tube its a funny play on MGS1-3, the formula is 1>animal, 2>weapon, 3>emotions; Laughing Octopus = Decoy Octopus+ Solidus's Tentacles+the Joy; Raging Raven = Vulcan Raven+Fatman's explosives+ the Fury; CryingWolf= Sniper Wolf + Fortune's Rail Gun + the Sorrow; Screaming Mantis = PsychoMantis + Vamp's knives + the Pain/Fear (debatable which you scream at)

I can draw a connection here. There have been 2 mass murders recently. See how they kill with no empathy? Their trauma distorts their mind. In their head, everyone is the enemy because of what they went through. But when they told Snake about their problem, thus making the issue REAL and coming to terms with what happened, they calmed down. Died shortly after. Shame Crying wolf had the fat ass 😭 Screaming Mantis invented an imaginary friend to deal with the torture. But maybe talking to someone real, like Snake, is the start to addressing problems one may have in life.

I finished the game and have no idea why they are all impossibly attractive woman who seem to turn to stone after walking towards you to be shot.

Their suits contain the same types of nanites that power Snake. When each of them flatline or enter a state where their vitals are read as non-recoverable they all self detonate at the same time and pretty much incinerate the suit and host to the point where nothing is recoverable. Scorched Earth policy at its most brutal.
