FOBs in a Nutshell: You build Nukes to prevent people from landing on your FOB. People with high hero points can land there anyway. Everybody who did like 70% of the story has that many hero points. Nukes are a prime target to steal and often the reason someone lands there in the first place. It's like robbers coming to your house after finding out you have a alarmsystem, to steal the alarmsystem and nothing else.

You have no idea HOW MUCH THIS VIDEO HAS HELPED ME. After almost 4 years, i came back to the game to replay the campaign. However, i decided to go for the platinum, because i think this game deserves it. Yesterday i developed a nuke that i was planning on disarming, so i could get both trophies related to nukes. Unfortunately, some dickhead stole it from me literally 10 minutes after the development was complete. So later, i figured, "hey, why don't i try to steal a nuke from another player's F.O.B.?" So i did. And thanks to this video, someone with shitty equipment without a single clue about F.O.B. invasions, stole a nuke and got his previously stolen trophy. My run wasn't as smooth as yours (A camera spotted me while on the 3rd platform lol), which forced me to go into hiding, with enemies walking like 2 meters away from me. I was fucking shacking lmao And the timer, that made me more nervous. I had only 40 seconds left when i stole the nuke. Having shitty equipment and zero experiences made things a helluva lot harder, but in the end the result was amazing. Again, THANK YOU

I like how they have every clear indication someone is on the base after discovering corpses everywhere, all their drones are shot down, resources missing and nuke just yoinked out of existence but they still won't sound the big boy alarm because they didn't technically spot you This is why I dread playing this online feature.

I'm on my fourth playthrough. Last time I played was a year ago. You know what I love? The game retains all of your online stuff from your last play sessions. So, when you can start collecting materials, you can use all of the old ones that were "online." When you can start fultoning vehicles, you have all of the ones from before. When you finally unlock Walker Gears, you have access to them in your Resources tab. When you unlock FOB missions, you get ALL of the old FOBs you purchased, as well as all of the points you accumulated from past victories. I just unlocked FOBs again a couple night ago, and I went to the PF Points tab. 556,000+ points! That's a LOT of Fire and Common Metal materials to construct FOB platforms. I even got a lot of S++ R&D soldiers, which barely made a scratch in my points total. With all the crap Konami has done in recent years, I'll give them props for at least keeping the servers running. For now, anyway.

This makes me wish the guard AI would go into a sort of semi-battle status after witnessing a bunch of guys drop dead so quickly. For example, if they notice four or five casualties in the span of a minute or two, then they'll radio to CP and enter a combat status, except they won't know where the player is exactly at. That way, the heightened situational awareness of the combat AI kicks in and provides a challenge, rather than the braindead patrol AI that takes forever to actually start shooting. As the game stands, the patrol AI is too easy to dance around and slaughter wholesale as long as you aren't directly seen.

BlueRevolvur i've seen people get shot in the head lots of times and never heard their skull cracking. "headshots" in real life don't explode out of the victims skull. it largely depends on the type of round the gun is firing, but with pretty much all handgun rounds and some rifle rounds you will get a very small entry wound and another very small exit wound. the only sound you're going to hear is the supersonic crack of the bullet. the impact of the bullet against their skull isn't going to be loud enough for anyone to hear unless you're the person being shot or literally right next to the person being shot.

Kanye East yes, on the internet obviously. i didn't think anyone was dumb enough to think i meant i see people getting shot in the head all the time in real life. the videos are in perfectly good quality if you don't watch them on youtube like a pleb. you can watch camel jockeys shooting people in the head in at least 720p if you go to an uncensored website. and of course the skull cracks to an extent, but you aren't going to hear it cracking. their skull is surrounded by their scalp and hair, and even the sound of a suppressed firearm would be loud enough to completely overpower any noise the skull cracking could possibly make. even if none of that were true, bones cracking sound nothing like the captain crunch sound effect that is being used in the game. other things to take note of: bullets aren't filled with gunpowder, casings are. the serval is a .50 caliber sniper rifle. their head would not crack, it would completely explode like you see in the popular execution video done with a .50 BMG machine gun. but that is not the point, because in the game it makes the same sound as a pistol does. I didn't hear Robert Dwyer's skull crack when I watched him shooting himself.

Masterfully done. To this day, I still haven't come across an FOB that has a nuke. I know it's a specific menu option when launching into FOB mode, but I have't found any. It's weird how they just leave it out in the middle of the main deck.

Mother base is an amalgamation of oil rigs. In guns of the patriots we had an oil drum to roll around in. Why didn't they bring it back as an alternative to the box. The mechanic to roll sideways is there and quite useful. Why not add a drum with a blown out bottom. It would have been fun to knock over guards again with said drum.

Realistically all GOBs can be infiltrated with the proper equipment and patience. I've seen some crazy FOBs since I bought this game some time ago, and even crazier ones online, for this one to be "maxed out" it has a really poorly set up security. There are far better ones out there and videos that showcase them, my personal favorites are the ones with mines on the bridges, both on top and underneath with turrets on the ends of the bottom routes.

That's my biggest fucking problem, patience. I rarely invade 4-plats because I like to be in and done so fast. Even then, I often take too many risks and get seen. But still...just back after a two-year absence and MAN does it feel good to be playing this game again!

scarabmango I would suggest doing the 4 plats because of the bonus you get for clearing all 4. Its hopeful a better score and if I remember correctly you get better soldiers as a result. Taking risks can be a necessity though, I don't blame you, I thought I was doing great until i watched a tutorial for mission 22 (mosquito) and one of the FOB events. Boy was I wrong. I couldn't have been worse, after practicing with that mission and the FOB events, I got way better. It helps to go in with the proper gear according to how the FOB is set up. I use Raiden more than any other skin too.

If that was me, i maybe already raised the alarm in the first deck, and busy for 15-20 min killed all soldiers and reinforcement while stay sniping people on top so they won't shoot mortar on me...
