Honestly this makes me wish they would add Observing Quest where we need to follow the quest monster and snap photo of the monster based on what the Quest requires (Mizutsune sleeping/ Eating fish/ Marking its territory/ Turf War). It would be just like the side quest where we need to snap a photo of an Arzuros sleeping only it's a full fledged quest

That's the point of that quest tho.. To introduce you the camera functionality and observe the monster... Which then can be done to every monster in the game with your own volition..

Photography Quest is definitely a kind of feature that I'd love to see Capcom implement in future games It's a nice break of pace from usual hunting or gathering routine that gives players an incentive to observe how monsters behave outside combat or encourage players to photograph wacky stuffs for NPC "research purpose" like Dung Beetle rolling poop or Teo's Supernova up close

Actually only amorous males are territorial most of the time they are docile. Males only act up during the mating season.

@MyNameIsGabe No it confirmed by capcom that all Mizutsunes we fight are males. And gammoth the ice mammoth we fight are females.

im late, also, yea it looks like a female but is a male, all of the mizutsunes are males. no worry is that you can misgender stuff and then will learn their actual gender. i also misgendered mizutsune as a female. but i learnt from the wiki that mizutsune is actually a male and all of the variants are males.

The ones we fight are males who are either really angry because its breeding season or simply angry because of the whole Rampage situation. The duller coloured females on the other hand are extremely docile to the point where you could theoretically domesticate like an otter or a fox

Mizutsune is one of the best designed Monsters, change my mind. I mean, it's a Soapy Fox Salmon, that's like sick dude. That's how you do over the top monsters, give them batshit abilities like Soap, but make them look like Animals * stares aggressively at Magnamalo and Valstrax *.

To be fair, valstrax is an elder dragon, a being whose existence is itself a mystery and compared to regular monsters they have more fantasy looking designs (even if they have some biological explanation of their powers like how valstrax uses dragon energy from his wings). Even then valstrax isn't the weirdest elder dragon, remember Yama Tsukami and his mouth.

@@k.guzhvin4952 That's kinda my point, it's not that weird, but it presented in a way that is out of place. Take Amatsu for example, it's 10 times more crazy since it can litteraly create rain and swim in the air like if it was water... And the way is presented is nowhere close to grounded (pun not intended at first, but i'll take it). The thing is that it looks made of flesh, its fins look like actual fins, not pointy shapeshifting spears that completally ignore any law of anathomy. It's just a presentation thing, Animal-ish monster looks better for me honestly. And then you have Magnamalo generally looking like a 5 year's old OC made of plastic, I don't think Mag has a good design in general... really.

@@yurei4414 totally agree with this one. The monsters with a familiar animalistic design tend to be my favorites when complimented by their behavior! My favorite is Rajang. Its brute force energy is really my style!

yeah I agree with you that monsters look better if they are based on an animal and give them some special powers, but i actually quite like mag's design. I do understand why people dislike it, but I think it has a lot of things that a good monster design needs. Based on an animal, has a badass ability, and its ability is explainable in real life. (mizutsune still the best monster)

I would personally love to see a mission where you actually meet a female and/or non-breeding season male Mizutsune and just interact with them. I imagine anything besides straight up attacking them would earn you an annoyed shove at worst. You could even walk up to a fishing hole and cast your line while the Mizu was fishing and it wouldn't even give you a second thought.

well i just made an oc wich is mizutsune, but instead of just being a piscivore. IT IS A CARNIVORE, funny but also creepy that saly(AKA salyan the mizutsune) eats 15 times per-day and has weird characteristics to be a normal mizutsune.
