I decided to start a new MH3U save and this is basically how it went. I love this game.

I actually played the entirety of 3 Ultimate solo... (3DS version) Its wasn't too bad. It was a chore since hunts dragged for so long (Farming Hallowed Jhen for the full armor was soooo slowww...) But still, I got to enjoy it quite a lot.

While charming, and I do respect that it introduced the series to really big part of community as a whole, I find it barely playable, way too annoying, way too slow, filled with so many useless mechanics that do nothing but waste time, in it's core it has barely any changes compared to Monster Hunter G on PS2, those poses when eating, constant knockback you can't do anything about, chance to fail at literaly EVERYTHING even eating, tracking the monster for basicaly half the entire quest time span, Monster Hunter is a series where every single next entry is just a straight up upgrade and worst case scenario a sidegrade, making any previous games completely irrelevant and not worth coming back to other than to feel some nostalgia, honestly I have no idea how that series survived it's first 2 entries, they were horrible even at the time, so much so that MH2 never left japan, but I'm glad it did because eventualy it gave us World and Rise, World is basicaly classic entry but with all that pointless BS reduced to absolute minimum, and Rise get rid of all that BS alltogether and has peak combat in the series, basicaly Rise is everything what was always great about the series and turned it up to 11

@@CaptainEffort yeah but MH SPECIFICALY has this bunch of assholes seemingly in millions in every single MH media capable of interaction, it's hard to ignore them when they whine everywhere for this pointless BS like papermache pickaxes and inventory map and paintballs to be back, they also seem to unironicaly like those BS animations during healing, eating and failing at literaly everything, I just cannot possibly understand why they want that back, I even understand some GoW 2018 fans AND I DESPISE THAT GAME but for the love of everything that is holy and unholy I can't grasp my mind around this malarky, how can someone miss those parts specificaly? Why they want this series to be slow and shitty again?

@@CainDB Eh, I like the healing animations too tbh. It just makes it so you have to time your heals, like in the original Dark Souls. It’s not for everyone, but for those that like that style of game it fits right in. Either way tho, you’re right that MH is super divided rn. It sucks, the community used to genuinely be one of the best out there, but with the change in focus with fifth gen, and naturally the huge influx of players, the player base has become split on what it wants out of the series instead of just appreciating it as a whole. Not to go into a whole thing, but here’s what I saw personally: World releases, and is pretty much loved by everyone, veterans included. However, reviewers and some new players trash the old games, calling them archaic and how World “saved” the franchise. This, naturally, makes many vets defensive. After all, most people would get defensive when someone comes along and bashes something they love. In that defensiveness however, the vets lash back out. And unfortunately they lash out at everyone, including new fifth fleeters who haven’t done anything wrong. So then you have a bunch of new players that assume the vets are just angry and bitter, not knowing the context of what started all of this, and understandably get angry themselves, lashing back out at the vets. This cycle just continues and continues, with both sides getting defensive and attacking each other. I wish things would end but sadly whenever someone bashes the other side it only exacerbates the issue.
