I haven’t pulled much on deadlift bars because i mostly compete in USAPL but that cerebus bar looks like a thin stiff-bar compared to the kabuki or Texas deadlift bar

i got to ask, whats the exact technique are you using? i can see that you are not pulling the slack, (maybe i am wrong), i wonder how this technique better for you to lift more? another thing- whats the purpose of the wrist wraps at deadlift (i wonder if it is wraps) thnx for responding.
@MHB30

I am pulling slack out of the bar. It just happens quick. I set up my air and brace at the top. After grabbing the bar, I begin pulling the slack as I pull my hips down into position.

hey john any tips on how i can be explosive like you if i use hook grip on deadlift,, by explosive i mean lifting liking a spring like you do,,,, I cant lift it that fast ,, i have to adjust my hook always
@MHB30
@MHB30 Күн бұрын
Deadlift doesn't require explosiveness. You want to be smooth coming off the floor, and then accelerate through the lift.

My goal is to try and get 1000lbs total at any point in my life haha. Currently weigh 145. I can hit these with decent warm ups. 265lbs Squat, deadlift 300lbs and bench is my weak point at 185lbs. Any tips on how to improve bench?
@daxisperry7644
@daxisperry7644 Күн бұрын
Dude those are seriously good numbers for your weight. Start eating more and your bench will go up with the size. How tall are you? Close Grip Bench and Weighted Dips helped mine.

I am at 130lbs Bodyweight had a 330lbs deads, 175lbs bench, 240lbs squat, my goal is also 1000lbs bro, all I can say is if you are benching 2x a week try 3x a week, add a variation like mines are paused bench, larsen and close grip, varied each session, also focus on your weak points, mine are triceps so I put in a bit more volume and intensity in doing my tricep accessories

@@noahstone1328 I wouldn't recommend PED's to the majority of people. Being at my level, there are a few benefits, that outweigh the negatives of PED's. For the average person, that's just not the case. As far as going back to the IPF, never. I'm of the opinion, once you hop on, you can't go back to test powerlifting.
