I worked in the medical field (pain management) for years. I've personally witnessed hundreds of PRP injections and have tracked patient progress through recovery. Personally, the results have been minimal from what I've seen. Insurance doesn't cover it because the scientific evidence is inconsistent.
@MHB306 күн бұрын
That’s fair. I get a really good deal on it price wise. So even if it’s just placebo, I’ve noticed really positive results with it so far

I do wonder if these mediocre results have to do with a lack of proper training to accompany the injections. At least anecdotally I have heard a lot of praise for PRP from high-level athletes but not casual ones/general population.

I developed tendinosis (scar tissue build up) from repeated damage on my left glute medius and hamstring. I tried rehabilitating it for 2 years no results, no healing. Then I found a physio that could do PRP. I needed a total of 4 PRP injections, 2 of them were in combination with hyaluronic acid because it was injected in the tendon. It healed 100% and I hope it heals your shoulder 100% too.

Any advice for a fairly new powerlifter in regards to programming. I have been a bodybuilder on and off for most of my life. I am 32 years old, and I do unfortunately have osteoarthritis and not the greatest lower back. I've been taking this powerlifting Journey fairly slowly over the last 3 months, but I feel like my progress has been fairly decent. Currently I am at a bench of 315 for a 4x1, ive been noticing slight shoulder pain so i try to back off and either reset at a 5x5 or even deload and do a 3x12 hypertrophy day to give my shoulders a break. Ive been doing either strict standing overhead press as a secondary movement, and then following up with just some shoulder lateral raises and rear delts for finisher. I may also throw in some neutral grip flat dumbbell press for a secondary. As far as my squat in deadlift go. My deadlift has gone to a 405x5, but on the second set i failed at 2 and at that point i finally noriced my back issues coming back. Maybe im pushing to much weight to fast. My low bar squat I managed 365 for a set of 3. So I decided to throw a 405 on the bar just to see what would happen. Honestly the weight doesn't feel that heavy whenever I on rack it and walk out with it, but when I go to Squad it it almost feels as if my back problems are what is holding me back, it feels like I should smoke this lift for a single but I ended up having to bail it. Currently I am taking a break from heavy deadlifts and squats and focusing more on hypertrophy while my lower back recovers and just putting all my focus into my bench press. Something else I should note is that I left mostly without a belt. I just felt that if I could build up the strength in my car to do these lifts without a belt it would benefit my back problems in the long term but maybe this is a mistake? I guess my main question getting into powerlifting is how often should I be switching things up, especially if my lifts are hitting plateaus like my bench press. Should I just continue to stick to a 5x3x1? This will be the end of a 3-month block. I thought maybe switching my flat to a incline as it's a bit more forgiving on the shoulders. I just don't want to sacrifice all the strength I've gained to finally hit 315 by dropping the weight significantly and starting with an incline press on this next block. Should I just keep sticking to the basics and eventually the numbers will start going up again? I would really like to hit 365 on bench by the summer. Sorry if this is long and has lots of run-on sentences. Voice to text kind of sucks ass.
