A master class on classic MH, thanks so much for this. The 2nd gen game I played was MHFU and now I realize I shouldn't complain about it, seeing as Freedom 2 had even less functionality... More seriously though, it's amazing how much we take for granted, like you said - the series definitely gradually evolved over 20 years. When you consider Dos, there definitely have been refinements going forward, despite the changes/omissions. Cool that you chose to play ranged, I like doing that on secondary characters.

Sorry to miss the stream! Freedom 2 is such a .... *interesting* game. Playing Dos and then it, then hitting FU you go wow FU really does have SO MUCH quality of life actually

Aw it's ok, I'll try and spread out when I do these so hopefully different time zones can enjoy it live 😁 And yeah! I thought it'd be pretty fun to see all the little differences MHF2 has over MHFU. Honestly, the game still being MHFU, more or less, I don;t mind the 1st gen/dos influences as much as I thought. I think my main issue in the old games is just how dated they can feel in gameplay, but I definitely still need to play through 1st gen one day 😄 Maybe once I beat MHF2 😌

unsure if you'll see this since it's part 1 of 3 streams but i agree completely on the whole being validated to see other be frustrated, oftentimes i will be doing something that will make me mad like fighting the Blos Wyverns and they keep running around and burrowing and won't let me get a single hit in and It's very validating to see others share in my frustration

I'm glad you think so too 🙂 Sometimes it can feel like we're the only ones struggling, most of the time it's because we'll only see people at their best because they only want to share their best, which is totally understandable. I like to show a more realistic depiction of how things can typically go, hopefully so people can understand that it's normal and they shouldn't feel ashamed or like they're not good enough. This game is basically earlier version of mhfu and have worse mechanic, when our character get knock down then it must get up first and cannot do anything before get up so the combo attack from monster like gravios become so terrifying

Weird lol, there's G-Rank Monoblos armor that takes high rank Monoblos materials, but you still need to get some things from G-Rank to make it, right? Since Monoblos is a singleplayer monster, and G-Rank is only multiplayer, same as how High rank was only multiplayer in MHF2.
