Great video, at first glance armor skills can be super confusing, I remember slapping a couple attack jewels on the mafumofu armor and thinking it actually gave me +3 attack to my stats, the very first time i played. Once I actually figured out how armor skills worked, I began to realize, even in just low rank village quests, the versatility one set of armor can have. At first i specced my Kut Ku armor all into health, i wanted a bigger health bar so I'd live longer after making noob mistakes constantly. But as I got better at the game, health became less useful as an armor skill, and I wanted damage, since i was more confident in dodging monster attacks, eventually I ended up on a nice balance of Attack Up M, Health +30, and Fire Res +5, Its honestly such a good set for early game, I'm having a hard time giving it up.

Nice, Simple, and still a relevant guide for MHFU. "I'm too lazy to farm material" skill A.K.A Torso Inc also can be useful to decrease material that you will need to farm, so it's suitable for those who are not patient enough to farm a set(Including me XD).

...what a coincidence, I downloaded Athena's Armor Set Search (for this 12~13 year old game) just 2 days ago... and here's a video about it! The exe in the zip/rar didn't extract, because windows found it a bit sus. Maybe I'll retry it, then... I love the system, but I really, really, REALLY hate how it's set up. Like when browsing the armor list, WHY the HECK can't a player just flip to page 3 and press up/down, to browse skills on the next gear pieces. What's worse, is trying to run the HM Wiki, along side, which hasn't been updated for a decade (for the MHFU parts)... I go to gear set lists, and have to a CTRL+F page search, to see the skills I'm after and ever after doing that, it doesn't show HOW many skill points the individual pieces have. ONLY on the more popular pieces, are there direct LINKS to detailed armor info, where the sets are broken down into individual pieces and the skills... but then, only SOMETIMES, shows how many slots, those pieces have; completely different layout, each time. I tried doing docs, where I copy/paste (after spending a handful of minutes, browsing back and forth) for individual pieces, but then I'm back to the same incoherent clutter, having so many pieces, trying to fit them together for the best possible combination; It's cool, if they deliberately made it like that, to hide the real god-combinations, for those who SPEND the extra minutes, looking―as much as I want to, then at the same time, I'm like: _"Bruh... I could sit here for hours and all I'll most likely end up getting, is 10% more crit damage, so I can (maybe-RNG)-down a Silver Rathalos in 11 minutes, instead of 12.. wee._ 🙄 _"_

Yeah it's definitely a bit difficult to work with, I agree. tbh for how different it is I think MHW's armor skill system did it the best. It just makes so much sense and makes it infinitely easier to just throw together a mixed set and have it work very well, compared to MHFU and the older games lol It's interesting to think about why they did it this way. I think it's a cool system and it works well enough... it's just.... a little strange for sure lol. There's a bit of customization to be had, which is great, but it's also somewhat limiting as well.

Higher was not possible; Thank you Athena, for saving from chasing an impossible goal)], along with Felyne Heroics. That was quite satisfying~! Thanks for the video explaining this and for nudging me to give the armor searcher another shot. 👍 Cons.: *(My hunter looks absolutely ridiculous now~)* *Edit:* Found a Japanese players video, who did Silver Rathalos in 3min 52sec. Paling my 6-something minute LBG strat. I tried with HBG; It was NOT easy to get Silver Rathalos to "cooperate" and I found some fundamental flaws in my strat. After combing those out, I could juuust weasel in a time of 3min 48sec, beating that guy, by 4 seconds. Not that _it matters..._ it's _just fun_ to breathe new life into this "old" game, once again. Athena's A.S.S. really was a big help~

Thanks lol, it's just the mic from my headset, which is the Kraken 7.1 v2. I've had it for a while, and I'm glad it still works. I've had headsets before where the mic just stopped working 😔😔 Ideally I could evntually use an actual microphone, but this works pretty well for now :) The font I usually use is "Verdana" though sometimes I'll use some other one depending on what I'm going for, but basically every time text is on the screen it's that. There's a black outline around the text, VEGAS says the width is "8" but I don't know if that means 8 pixels or what.

I play online with others through Hunsterverse every now and then, especially when I stream, but for my guide series I play solo just in case others can't play with others. Thats not a problem you can use your safe file. The emulator everyone uses is called ppsspp. For it to work you need so called custom firmware on your psp but thats super easy to set up. Have fun its amazing on pc

@@lazar3545 Plug your PSP to your PC via a miniUSB-regular USB adapter cable. Then just look through PSP/SAVEDATA and find your monhun region's ID; copy that to PPSSPP, continue like nothing ever happened.

A great example of how important armor skills are, is me playing MH4U not knowing about armor skills prioritizing defense instead of armor skills and suffering in high rank *village* quests. Meanwhile in even MHFU it was alot more manageable than MH4U when I knew about armor skills and mixed sets. I also reached G*** on MHFU (Although I did receive some help.

I'm actually trying to get some Rathalos materials from the GH 2 star quest that pops up together with the Rathian quest (the kimono lady suddenly had new dialogue and opened these up) but I assume after all you said it will be worthless? I'm looking for Plates and Wyvern Marrows specifically.

I don't know the specifics for what does or doesn't drop unfortunately, but yeah, I don't think that's a great way to go about it honestly. There's not really much reason to get the Rathalos or Rathian armor set yet. The only reason to get it now is if you *really* want it early, but I think it just takes too long and you may not get what you need from it. I'd say get it from the urgent quest later on, but it's your call, good luck!! >.

Maybe, there are some things about decorations that I can explain as well as some tips, like how some decorations actually give you two skill points instead of 1, meaning you can activate the skill with 5 slots instead of 10, which is much easier to get. Couple of examples of extremely useful skills that can be obtained this way are Speed Sharpening with Grinder Jewels, and Bullet Limit with Armory Jewels 😄

Not the MHFU version, but Athena's gone and went multiple versions for different games. Currently they've made an Athena's A.S.S. for: MHF1, MHFU, MH Tri, MHP3rd, MH3U, MHO (rip), MH4, MH4U, MHGen, MHGU, and MHW There are other options for MH3G, MH4, MH4G, MHX, and MHXX, and MHW though, that may be better, but feel free to check Athena's out anyways. Is there like a programme that tells you where to find the items for making armor amd weapon?since im new and im basically at hr 3 and no idea at all, ive been searching google but no accurate answer they just say high rank quest but litterally no idea what to do,im hunting for like rathalos plate and khezu pale steak, and still i havent got any, ive killed rathalos like 21 time or even capture but still no drop of that item.

Unfortunately for a game like MHFU there isn't as much information as there is for the later games, specifically, there's an *incredible* program called Ping's Dex (sites.google.com/site/pingsdex/) and it's honestly incredible, and I wish there were more programs like it for the other games and just other games in general. There's also Kiranico (kiranico.com/) but these all are for later games in the series. Your best bet when looking for information on this game is either in my discord, I have a channel for useful links, or google. If you google "MHFU Rathalos Carves" the first link should take you to a wiki page where you can find out what you should do for it, in this case you should carve his tail and capture him. Same with MHFU Khezu carves, the Pale Steak is an example of a high rank only item, it can be less obvious until you get used to the items to know what rank it's from, but you should find out by looking around a bit. For the Pale Khezu Steak, you should capture Khezu, try to break his head or back(?) and try and get it's shiny (it drops when he drools from the ceiling) Some items are rare, so, even if you do all that you can, you'll still not get what you need, and even if you don't do anything, you may get something really rare out of the blue. You just gotta keep going, good luck!

Jokes aside, very nice surprise after stopping from playing Hunter games and anything related after the godforsaken movie. God, that was a clusterfuck. lol yeah it's good to sort it by what you want to prioritize, and remove pieces of armor that you don't want to use. You're only really supposed to use the top one in the list once you've got something you like. In terms of Armor Skills, I guess you can just use what you like from the game 😄 and if you're not quite sure what armor skills you want, you don't really need to use a mixed set or anything, there's good sets in game as well.

+10 in ESP gives you "Fencing" which "prevents attacks from being deflected, so combos will not be interrupted." according to the wiki. When a monsters hitzone is low enough, your weapon will bounce off of it. Since the hitzone is low, it will also be dealing lower damage. The bouncing itself does not reduce the damage dealt, but it does damage your sharpness faster. ESP will prevent bouncing, but you will still be losing sharpness more than if you hit a softer part. Bouncing is determined by a few things, most notably the quality of your sharpness, but some weapons and some attacks also have modifiers that may cause you to bounce or not bounce. For example, Sword and Shield wont bounce in some instances where another weapon will. I believe an example of an attack that will bounce more often is the Gunlance's forward lunge attack. In general, ESP can be good for newer players or people who just want to hit the monster and not really focus on where. Bouncing when you attack can lead into taking damage or dying, and this will prevent that. Better players don't really need it, but there are some niche situations that can take advantage of ESP, though in every case, changing up your strategy and/or weapon will do just as good as well, or better. They ended up buffing it in Sunbreak because it's kind of a whatever skill lol
