MHGen Lv10 Grimclaw Tigrex solo (Guild Insect Glaive) - 9'36

Took me long enough to get sub 10 on this one. Normal Tigrex is such a pain to speedrun, more so if you use a weapon that doesn't rely on headsnipes.

five times actually, three were strong hits and the other two was some very light chip damage. One of the smaller hits knocked canta down.

Hang in there fellow hunter! I'm totally new to the MH franchise myself and I simply wasn't expecting what came of my first couple of attempts at the Plesioth quest in the Guild Hall stuff... But I did get past it at last after many attempts. Sometimes these things just take time and we only will ever get better by practice.

Yeah but obviously if you come in from older monster hunter games you literally are sitting on so much previous experience; you know more about monster attack patterns than someone just starting, you know more about weapons and elemental weaknesses than someone just starting etc... 90% of monster hunter is being persistent and working at getting better. Nobody drops into monster hunter for the first time with perfect knowledge of what to do. You have to research monsters online and/or fight them repeatedly to learn attack patterns better. Also it's more problematic if you're starting the game without a friend to help you come to terms with the basics. So yeah the tools may be there to help, but I mean you also have to look up so much stuff online to get a basic handle on how upgrade trees work, learn what hitzones are vulnerable to what element, and of course gathering nodes. You make it sound like MH is "very easy" to get into. Perhaps easier than previous games, but still a far-cry from easy. This guy started MH:G so giving him crap for not having played freedom unite (an MMO with a subscription service that may not even be accessible in his country) is pretty BS. Even Canta has trouble with freedom unite...

Yeah I have seen many struggle with normal Tiggy in this one, seemingly due that Grimclaw does lock on you in more close range combat but Tiggy runs to hell everytime and catching up is a pain in the butt.

I think Grimclaw gets too easy after a while, that's because I fought Brute Tigrex in Mh4u, farmed his GQs, so that super roar and his attacks are super easy to predict, and with adept DBs, Grimclaw is a f*king joke. But you did it THIS fast? I need practise.

3 years late but is not that Grimclaw is slower is do to him having a more closed combat whereas the normal Tigrex like to run around and spam charge the whole time.

Robin G this is a ok run of this... but I solo this in the 7 min range. If he'd put more effort into the quest he'd get a better time... he had great times in 4u. In gens he just takes whatever.
