MHGen The 2nd Ultimate Kinsect

You may have noticed that some glaive users are sometimes using a kinsect other than the ultimate kinsect. I wanted to make a video discussing the speed 1/affinity kinsect in more detail, and why you may want to try it if you haven't already, and also show how the double - up extender works in practice. Its a pretty powerful kinsect with the right wep/skills, and another possible alternative that you can try out. Happy Hunting!

I've just been getting into the Kinsect Glaive again for Generations after basically maining it for most of 4U, but giving it a healthy break in between. After watching Gaijin's video I was honestly more intrigued by the Speed Kinsect than the normal "ultimate" one, because a free 30% Affinity boost almost floored me when I heard it. I'm glad to see a (sort-of) follow-up video on my thoughts that some people are actually using it viably, cause I want to try it out. Thanks Herny.

In 4u litterally all I liked to do with my kinsect was just dump speed nectar and watch it zoom.

In MH4U, you were always supposed to use +(+) on "endgame" kinsects or you ended up with a handicap. If that isn't a thing anymore, it is good they removed a lot of unnecessary confusion.

They still show the stats like in 4U for each bug, you just have to press X to toggle the display.

Yeah, the double-up bug might have shorter triple-up time vs the balanced bug, but that 30% crit makes it better, imo. The balanced bug is only better if you hunt with other IG users, due to the IG-only extract "wide range." Thankfully, in MHXX we can swap bugs without having to make new glaives!

Balance is also good because it suffers no penalties. It has no decreased flight distance, no minuses to its own stats, and it makes triples last longer. Its boosts are small, but its all boosts

I prefer the triple up extender as it stacks with the increased duration of Extract Hunter 3 which usually lets me refill the gauge before it expires which other bugs don't allow as easily.

What is the Ultimate Kinsect. in 4U it was either Bilbobrix or LadyTower because they extended the time you held on to your extracts.

Recently got into GU and I was really digging on this one kinsect after seeing the Gajin Hunter kinsect video. The sole reason why is because I can never get triple because orange is cursed and I'd rather get the double up extender and affinity. Thanks for the video demonstration!

Well you may try making an armor that helps filling the gauge faster and use extract hunter III. Insight and vault would be good skills, combine that with a deviant IG. Also Arrekkz has some tips on how to make it work.

ah thanks, but the only reason it felt off for me was because I'm used to vaulting quite often when playing worth friends, but I'll give that a go and maybe it'll change my mind aha

thats not what double up does. i usually remain with two extract colors and when it is about to fade i always recover it by extracting one of the colors i got first. for example if i have white and red in that order and my extract is about to leave i can pick up white and both extracts remain alive and when they start to fade again i grab red because it stayed the longest

Don't forget to upgrade to level 9 if you have Generation Ultimate or XX for new kinsects skills.

You can go for 9/6/12 on both. 99 power, 100 weight, 160 speed is a solid setup for both once your kinsects are made.

Do you know how much weight actually adds to the time you can have an extract linger on your kinsect before it runs out of Stamina? Is power even worth leveling up?

+SlyCooper92 yea so the reason we don't keep going in speed is because the kinsect can actually get too fast and a bit obnoxious to control. So since we can stop at 160 we can put the extra points into power just so our bug packs a little punch. We don't need any more than 100 for weight(stamina) that just controls how long our bug can stay lit floating around, and 100 is a solid amount of stamina for a bug to work with :)

For my first kinsect I went 10 0 16 I think ^^ I'll make a second glaive soon and try the 9/6/12 Setup and see if its easier to use although at this point I've almost gotten used to the low Stamina and high Speed but the Power I don't really feel much so 10 in power is probably not the ideal Setup ^^

One more thing nobody really seems to use. The R shot to fire the cloud thingy for the kinsect. I've started using it a couple of days ago and I really like it so far. It really helps getting quick and easy triple ups especially on airbourne Targets. Why does everybody hate it so much?

Is it bad if I put 5 levels in power, 6 in stamina and all 16 in speed? I love when the bug is ridiculously fast, it's like a bullet and it allows me to take advantage of openings that would be a bit small to get the extract from otherwise; though if I put that much speed in the bug, and I still want to keep the level 6 stamina (100), then I have to pay with its power, which stays at a low level 5; is the power level too low? And are the 16 levels of speed unnecessary? This is how I personally make my bugs, though I'm not sure if that's good. I would really appreciate any advice, if you have any!

Question. Gaijin says lv 8 is max. But the game (gen U) shows a level 9 stage. Whats up with that?

There's two spots in Jurassic Frontier that are near camp you can look up. Once you have some, just use the trader cat to duplicate them.
