Yukumo!! One of my favorite villages! I love the atmosphere and the hot spring system, even though I didn't like having to go to the hall before every hunt. My usual habit is to register the quest, then eat, but you can't do that in the village. Still love Yukumo!

I'm starting to see more and more similarities to Yukumo and Kamura Village in MH Rise. Not suggesting they're the same but could be somewhat close in location. Yukumo seems to have more of a samarai influence while Kamura more ninja. This would make much more sense than Kamura being in the New World just because of newer monsters being around. Just my guess.

+AJ the Brute T-Rex By technicality, M. Ray stomps. Resistance to water attacks(Amatsu's element) and Delta Stream negating weather(Amatsu's entire gimmick) means there's nothing it can do. It can still use physical attacks, sure, but in terms of MH final bosses, Amatsu is on the weaker side when it comes to muscles.

Perfect timing with this video gaijin. I literally just ordered a copy of MHP3rd (HD Ver.) for my PS3. I wouldn't have been able to really understand the backstory leading up to the Amatsu fight, seeing as how most of the text and dialogue will be in Japanese for me. I know the original MHP3rd is pretty old, but I never got a chance to play it completely. So I figured why not play it now until Monster Hunter Generations comes out, so that way I can compare the similarities and differences between the old and new Yukumo village.

+william cahill TBH this game looks like it has two of the only reasons to play P3 - the only new monster it has is Amatsu, who's going to be in Generations, the rest is just a mix of 3U and FU creatures. The farm's pretty good and it's great to be able to make scraps for feyline armour instead of doing a minigame, but the quests aren't very varied (a _looot_ of "Hunt a great Jaggi/Arzuros" quests for the first few ranks). Probably not worth your time, although running the patched version via emulator makes the graphics look quite nice.

Gaijin, since Ultra Crit changes the crit modifier from 1.25 to 1.4, wouldn't that apply to the Element Crit as well? Same with Status Crit, if you can get the 2 on the same set? Also, it will be nice to finally enjoy Yukumo, even if we don't get access to the full experience from MHP3 and I look forward to fighting Amatsu.

+Arhen Dante From the Famitsu's official guide book: "it increase critical damage from 1.25 times to 1.4", and since the modifier for elemental crit is actually different for each weapon(1.2, 1.25, 1.3, 1.35 all exist), this description is definitely only referring to the physical part. Still a very nice skill :0. (stat crit is 1.2 times so not that either)

While not being able to bathe in the springs is a downer, I can kinda see why it's not a thing now. You had to go the gathering all just to use it and wouldn't tie well with the new fondue system. That said at least the village is back. I didn't like Portable 3rd that much (it felt like a barebones 3rd gen title.) but the village was great.

You get the Master's set from Kokoto, the Black S set from Pokke, and the Ancient set from Bherna village. They all involve quest lines you get when you have access to the Hyper monsters.

As cool as Yukumo vilage is, I still stand by the fact that Moga Village should have been the 3rd gen village in this game. Not in the least due to the fact that the best bits of Yukumo village are not in MHX (the farm/hot springs). And also due to Moga being in the main games of 3rd gen (Yukumo was only in P3rd). Despite the fact that many Western folks have never seen Yukumo, I still think a bit of nostalgia from Moga would have been nicer. Blame Capcom for not releasing MHP3rd in the West.

i think its what p3rd brought to gen3 is what really made it stand out more than mh3 and since capcoms main audience is japanese they get the same nostalgia for either villages. I doo agree that its lame that theres no gathering halls or farms for the old maps tho.
