In other games is probably more powerful but a couple of styles in GU (Valor and Aerial) are definitely the most fun version of this weapon. Glad I helped!

I still wouldn't use it as a guard point unless in a desperate situation. You want all the 6 hits to land. But yeah is a nice tech to know

Thx m8, this is amazing. Ive been able to do well with cb in mh4u and mhr, and recently started improving in world but gu felt so so different to me and i was struggling. Ive mainly played swaxe, but CB is always gonna be my preferred weapon

Is their a trick to doing the amped slash because usually it works half the time and just goes straight into a discharge

You have to press back + X otherwise you waste all the phials. Note that the "back" input is relative to the hunter point of view. A "trick" is to press L while you are doing it so it always faces forward and then you always just have to press down as your back input. But use what makes you feel more comfortable

Adept kinda gets outclassed by those 3 styles. It is still good but Striker or Valor do better. Additionally, I am not super familiar myself with the style enough to show others how to play it effectively. There is a Lagiacrus run that uses adept if you wanna look into that. It also uses Guard Up iirc

@@shirogami4224 typically Striker is better since you get 3 arts for free plus extra damage boost. But is really matchup dependant. I never said X is better dont use the rest. Aerial is fun and it has good matchups but is awful against some mobile monsters like Narcacuga or Kirin. Valor helps when you need the speed and mobility. I would try them all and see which style is better against certain monsters. Just like certain weapons have better matchups too. Dont discard adept, it has its uses. From my understanding sure adept gets outclassed but adept is the safest style to use when encountering a monster the 1st time and really adds to learning striker when your ready to drop adept dodge and instead gp or use the hunter arts like absolute readiness/evasion it'll really make hunts interesting
