@@Sunaki1000 I do agree with the warning that this monster lacks in pre-world games. It would be nice to see a small windup for the charge attack and other small QOL changes to it in general. As for the hit box thing, look at 00:51. There is no way that should've hit Canta. As for my previous comment, I never really had an issue with Garuga. Now Yian Kut-ku on the other hand, now that tHiNg deserves the name of hitbox chicken.

@@AVideoingShark If you give windups and tells to Garuga, then it turns into yet another easy-to-script fight that takes no skill like fighting the Raths is, it will literally ruin the monster and the fun fight! Garuga has no tells for the most part, but it always does a specific action depending on where you stand near/around it, so just from experience you can predict exactly what it will do. Only move that deserves the huge windup it has is the wind roar backflip, which only an idiot can get hit by... As for hitboxes, the hitboxes are actually great, don't forget that when it slams the beak down it causes the ground to swell a little, THAT's the hitbox, not just the beak, but even though it's big, it's very easy to tell and avoid, plus it teaches you to not overcommit, which is always nice.

Tho tho I see you’re a man of culture as well. I agree with you on the windups. It would make Garuga too easy, but with World’s animations being really expressive, Garuga can be another case of Jho, with it being knocked out of rage from being overcommitted and getting punished for it. It would be nice to KO a Garuga with it’s beak still in the ground in World. You never know what Capcom will do. As for hitboxes... yeah I agree with you completely with what you said. I remember being clipped by many literal groundbreaking attacks and getting squashed for not moving out in time. With World, maybe Garuga will be given a second wind for a great, poison infested, fight!

Flygon2626 i agree on the Paralysis tail, but i've yet to find a decent attack pattern for him. Because i personally would just change the aliment on the tail and nothing else. I've yet to come Up with anything for the moment. And sorry, but i just can't see an ice element subspecies... Wait. Yian Garuga usually uses his tail unwittingly (he's only aware of his poisonous tail if he flips, if you ask me), so the subspecies should actively try and stab you and paralyze you. As for the rest, let me see... He'd use his beak to batter you and not just peck and actually try to swipe you with his claws. He can still breathe fire, but will do this occasionally. My Yian Garuga subspecies is only a prototype, but what do you think?

There Point was, Attacks sould be avoidable and predictable as long as you watch out, and know that your doing. Attacks what are hart to avoid, sould be weak, and getting hit sould be allways your own fault. Garuga and Rathalos completly ignore this whit Instant Runs, Instant pecks and Instant fly into Fireball (Not Rage, He had another, similar attack) Old Rathalos was terrible, and Garuga isnt better eighter. Funnily enough, hyper and deadeye improved on this and actually had tells.

@@wallacesousuke1433 there are 3 Oils there is Affinity oil Impact oil and Exaust oi Affinity oil boosts your affinity obviously Impact Oil gives your attacks K.O damage and Exaust makes monsters tired faster theres also the Hunter Art Chaos Oil wich is all 3 oils at the same time and the buff stacks with the other oils so you coukd have both Affinity and Chaos oil active for a massive boost in Affinity same with the other 2 oils all 3 normal oils are bought in the store amd only work on Sword and Sheilds and make Sword and Sheild even more of a swiss army knife weapon it already was

show timefu we will have to wait and see usually you had a pretty good idea of what to expect in the older games, but there is a larger element of randomness to the kinds of monsters that can invade a hunt in mhw

It didn't, but that may change for World. Garuga in its debut game (MHG) was an "Invasion Quest", a monster that can be repelled if you don't damage it enough, and only Elder Dragons had those kind of quests aside from it. In subsequent games, it was downgraded to somewhere between Rathian and Rathalos threat level, and the concept of an invader monster that was of similar danger to EDs would be revisited with Rajang, then Deviljho, then Bazel, and every time it would be refined until we get the current form of the archetype. With Garuga uppercutting Jho in its intro cutscene though, it looks like it may be getting bumped up again into that category, and we'll see it as one of the possible invaders alongside the others in Master Rank if so.

Ive always felt the Hitboxes in MHW were a bit... off... you'd know what i mean if you've played the classic games against most monsters. There were definitely outliers but monsters like Glavenus, Gore, Astalos, etc all had hitboxes that were basically to the pixel to the frame, worlds seems a bit Chunkier in that regard... Deviljho being a great example of the differences between the games hitboxes.

As someone who has been playing since 4u i can say without a doubt that SnS is still great, just requires you to play differently and utilize all of its strings to thier fullest. Contrary to what people will tell you Falling bash isnt the only combo. Its your DPS String for when monsters are tripped, KOd or otherwise CCd, on the flipside you still have a (slight modified) Legacy Combo in , standing ▲ ▲, ●, ●, ● using Turnslash or Backhop to reset. The Slash Combo ●, ●, ●, Backhop or Turnslash, Thrust To reset which has better Raw damage but is worse for elemental damage because its slower. Or the Blade Waltz Combo ▲, ▲, Turnslash, ▲ Loop. Which has lower raw damage but gets more hits out faster, Legacy is a blend of the two that also keeps you in place for the most part so its good to punish larger openings when you have good positioning or dont want to move. Just use the weapon well and it will be a monster.

Oh sweet summer child, what do you know of fear? Lemme put it like this: - Kickflip poison hitbox that makes Rathian jealous - Stupid loud roars the stun for unreasonably long - Wind pressure and roar locked into fireballs, charges, or instant kickflip (previously mentioned) - Stupid fast charge with little warning - The GOT. DAMME. TURNING TAIL SWIPE - Its insistence on doing most of its fighting from range with fireballs and tail sweeps, and running or charging once the hunter gets close. Yian Garuga isnt just a monster, it's a hunter. Its wildly intelligent, knows its arsenal, knows most hunters weaknesses and how to exploit them. I am fully prepared to put down the game for a few days once I run into this guy again.
