MHGU: How to Make a Custom Armor Set

This video is so great. I had a really hard time wrapping my head around how to execute this building process effectively, and it's absolutely wonderful that you actually show your thought process when making a set. I haven't seen any other video like this, so VengefulTorture you really are filling a void in MHGU content out there as far as I can tell. Very underrated and it's a shame that after two months it's only gotten fewer than 1600 views.

Excellent tutorial, right now I'm working on two sets, one por Charge Blade and one for HBG. Your tips are very usefull I was using the full Seltas X set to get Artillery Expert and Razor sharp, but I was also looking for Load Up +10, I think those three skill are fundamental for CB users but if I can get Handicraft and something else plus all of that, that would be so cool. In the other hand I'm new to HBG and I'm trying to learn how to put together some skills, I'm using the Athal-ka set at the moment but I will look for something else, you should also mention those unique pieces like Barrage earings that have +10 in Load Up and the Hayabusa Feather with +15 in Critical eye. The best tool to create a custom set is Athena's Armor Set Searcher (you can search for it on Facebook) it can search for multiple armor set with your desire armor skills+your own custom charm, quest/hr/event quest progression, you can even search with some armor exception or addtion in advanced search... Push the combination to limit like Weakness Exploit+Atk S (Atk M with weap 3 slots)+Crit Boost+Crit 3+Challenger 2 is possible with a god charm. There are other versions of it from MHF1 to MHWorld too (MH4U and MHGen ver have images for your armor set results - which is awesome for fashion hunter)

It's all case sensitive, so make sure you are typing in the skill as seen on the skills tab. A2 is the only cell formula you should alter

So I transmoged the chaotic gore x set and glavenus x set and it has demonic blessing and I checked out the skills and it says negative 10 for demonic blessing so does that mean demonic blessing will not activate.

It means you have a chance to take more damage now instead of less. Socket in a protection jewel to bring it to -8

Any advice on a mixed set that would help in the Village 6* Quest with the Deviljho, Tigrex and Nargacuga ? I mostly only use LongSwords if that helps, and reached Village 9* and HUB 3* best set I have is for Najarala S set with gemmed in Autotracker (With Talisman that helped with that)

Out of the fry pan is a very difficult quest and I'm going to give you a reality shock here. You ain't ready for it. Interesting thing about ADVANCED quests, they're actually one tier above all other quests in that category. So if the other quests are low rank, it will be high rank; high rank then they're G Rank. Considering you're at 9* village you have access to some high rank armor and weapons. I don't have many high rank custom sets since they're mostly just made to get you through. My advice: come back to it. But if you're stubborn then I would make the best thunder sword you can (zinogre most likely for now, astalos beats it out and of G Rank) and make a pretty purely offensive set. Gore magala is solid and has some good skills, but of course it depends on what charms you have as well. What style are you using? Adept is insanely helpful for these multi monster fights but anything can do it. Hell aerial is great too

@@ItsMeVT Guild with Absolute Evasion and Sakura Slash II, and yes I am that stubborn lol my best Thunder Weapon with more Raw than thunder is the chainsaw longsword with 180 raw and I usually do have a ton of healing + palico that's a healer as well

So that's chainslaughter lvl2.... shit man, that's not going to work. Like i said, i recommend maybe coming back to this quest. You have plenty of time but the faster you can take out one of them (tigrex/narga) the easier the other will be and the more time you'll have for Jho. Go out, make eager cleaver, hands down the best early LS you can make, and the easiest. Upgrade it as much as possible and then make a more offensive armor set. Shagaru magala, gore magala, azure los, something. Upgrade that armor and then you'll be in a better place to take on this quest. OR. Press on in the hub and just come back later.

ah been a while since i did the quest, thought the other two spawned first but I must be thinking of a different quest. Well if Jho kills you at the start that's one of the problems. You definitely need an armor upgrade so i'd start there, then learn it's movements of course. best way to do that is to fight it on other quests (so you reap some rewards still). Also try other styles, that can go a long ways

Anything with high grade earplugs and SP prolonger or other arts related skills. You could run: High metal Z Esurient XR Esurient XR Akantor XR Damascus XR Throw on any talisman and fit the skills how you want. You'll get HGE, sharpness +1 and insight (composed) with a few decos just from the set

Hey bud! I have done all the perquisites for unlocking custom armor sets. For some reason R series armor still isnt appearing. I am HR6. I have done bare minimum key quests to get to my rank. I also only did the bare minimum quests to unlock the R series armor. I have completed triple toady terror and spoke to the Harth Chief who sent designs for R armor to my smithy. I cant see any designs though. Do I have to defeat hyper monsters at least once to unlock their corresponding R series sets? If so I did hunt hyper Naj afew times to buff my HR Naj armor’s defence. I cant see a Naj R series set? Plz help :(

Bare minimum, you probably should do a bit more. You need to hunt a certain number of hyper monsters, as well as clear quite a few request quests. Do the "..." Quests and fight more hypers + any optional valstrax. Been a while since I played this, so I don't remember everything you need to do, but they protected against bare minimum

To be honest, it's a bit early to be worrying about custom sets at 10 hours. I wouldn't worry about a custom set until you reach high rank. Great weapon choices though ;)

this video is very informative thanks :) am looking to make a super switch axe custom , i try to fit in Tenderizer , Critical up , expert +3 , handicraft and sharpness but am clueless , it seem to me like getting expert +3 with this set is almost impossible cuz my charms are not that good :( and i cannot do "urgent coal miners needed" quest to farm them so am kinda stuck with my current custom ( Ceanataur X set with Tenderizer and Divine blessing ) anyone can help ?

Yeah it is impossible to have expert +3, tenderizer, sharpness, handicraft all in one set but if you have a godly tailsmant like 5 tenderiser 10 expert triple slots or if you have a 5 chain crit 5 critical up triple slots with the cenataur x set you could will get expert +3, razor sharp, repeat offender, crit boost this is a really good combination and by adding energy charge 3 hunter art that boost your affinity by 30% you will have a total of 90% crit using a 0% affinity weapon so get a 10% affinity weapon and you will achieve 100% crit. (note that crit boost is a must have for any crit set as it boost your crit damage from 20% to 40% with is a huge boost) I hope this helped you. If you need anything or any information just ask. Forget about it being impossible i manage to fit all these skill in one set but you need a godly talismanant of tendirizer 6 expert 10 triple slots Wht you need is : a 3 slots weapon with thee is plenty specilay in end game, auroros helm XR, ceanataur mail x, and esurient arms waist and legs, as for decorations you need: tendirizer level 3, crit up level 3 x 2,expert 3,and expert level 2, and crit up level 1 x2.

Back then building a set was another puzzle game 😅 (I used to spend hundred of hours to make my fashion+effective armor sets) seriously, I happy with their changes in World, I've seen so much people that never read the game instructions (in hunter notes?) and join deviant/hyper monsters hunt with a colourful "Mix" sets that have full decorations for a lot of AWESOME SKILLS but none was activated
