Just got into 10 star Village and tried to beat Rajang. Very fun fight with HBG Valor(currently just maining HBG and Hammer). He's very fair with his openings and punishes you like you do him, much better fight than Valstrax. Good run, got everything right

I know I'm pretty late, and you understandably might not respond and you might have a different opinion but why do you consider Rajang better than Valstrax? Personally I enjoyed both fights very much, they're both powerful monster's with quick moves and predictable vulnerabilities. Rajang's laser, body swing, ground pound, Valstrax's slam to tail pierce, missile barrage, comet attacks, strong moves with rewarding punishes y'know? I personally use Valor GS and Guild HH so that probably changes perspective, and the comment is 9 months old but I am really curious.

@@Apotheosister Hello, so I played MHGU on a 3ds and my 3ds was second hand purchased since I don't really have money and the controls were very flimsy and not good. I used Valor HBG and GS since I watched the vids on them. I can't say with certainty but I remember the fight with rayang always being much easier with Valor since I immediately learned him and while he did throw projectiles he was mostly close range heavy damage so I quickly learned his patterns but Valstrax was a pin. At first I thought I was underprepared but it was a lot worse than that. I tried with HBG but it was almost impossible. His wings were incredibly big, to the point where if I even tried the Valor reload I would be almost one-shot so I tried doing it again and again but always failed bc of the wings, so I thought ok,maybe since I know his patterns mostly I can do Valor GS. But lo and behold he can destroy in close range as fast as he can in long range, it wasn't enough to know his patterns if every one of his attacks had the hitbox of a building and I could get a nice hit in in very rare moments in which I'd probably also trade with him which was horrible for me. So in the end I think I used Adept IG to cheese him but it was just incredibly frustrating with buttons not working very good and him being so fast and so aggressive,almost never letting up against a gameplay style that required a slow prep but a good punish. I guess I find him tolerable now but if I installed MHGU on my 3ds I certainly would never fight Valstrax again

@@Miki-hk6vy I can definitely see your perspective, I originally played MHG on a old 3DS and it definitely soured the experience a bit, it sucks unfairly taking hits and some monster's really are unbearable. I play a bit of LBG but I haven't fought Valstrax as a gunner yet, but I could never fight them as a HBG, it already sounds too tough. Valstrax is fun personally but I can see the frustration, they really do hit like a building and they're as big as one too, it's hard to see their tells when your screen is covered. And since it's hard to tell if a area is safe you could play defensively and stay away, in which case they will stab, slam, shoot or rush you, and if you do dodge that doesn't mean you have always enough time to punish. Rajang hits just as hard but they're pretty tiny which makes the tells way more visible, plus safe zones are more defined, and all of their ranged attacks are powerful but predictable. I can understand why you prefer Rajang and yeah I can agree a bit, felt a bit more manageable when you can see all of their movement at all times. MH is always interesting to talk about, so many people have different tastes and experiences, it's fun to compare it all! Thank you very much for responding and I hope you have a good year.

Is pierce level 1 better because you lose less hits due to it not travelling that much through the monster? And Rajang's small body not allowing further levels of pierce to apply their full damage

@@simplyrome Tried it with the Narg LBG a bit ago and he actually leaves you on 5% after the Planko Balls if one hits you. Thankfully I was running adept. Still lost though

I was doin the same and I also got destroyed, I will keep practicing valor hbg on hyper rajang till I get a decent time. My goal is just under 5 mins if that's even possible. Btw thanks for subscribing :)

Been testing out Valor HBG specifically myself and it feels fun, just took a mostly upgraded low rank hbg with crouching Pierce and bullied Gammoth

Im using the combo list option using the + button. Doing this the menu automatically detect which certain items are combinable in your inventory making it a priority on the list :)
