Thanks! Yeah I was surprised to find it out when I tested it. I guess I'm so used to rise(?) Where the shield attacks don't use sharpness. I'm not an SNS main so I dunno when they made that change.

Hell yeah best weapon time!! the round slash getting added to this game makes it so much more fun than in FU eta: yeah, until rise, third hit of combo a just takes too long to come out and you have better finishers for more damage that don't commit you for as long. it's easy to button mash into it, and part of learning the weapon is learning not to do that. eta 2: also, i'd really recommend to anyone wanting to do SNS to make some speed sharpening decos once you get the jaggi armor, having speed sharpen through low rank just makes sharpness management so much easier and less stressful since it makes sharpening during a fight much easier. You're not gonna get sharp +1 for a while, so having some other way to mitigate it--even if you can't get attack up L--is very worthwhile.

A fine overview. In my head, Sword and Shield and Dual Blades are two facets of the same weapon, despite their different abilities. It's as if with DB you give up the protection of a shield and the versatility of item usage for sheer aggression, but they share many things in common and are both rather intriguing. Still, if I had to choose one or the other, I'd go with SNS for its more conservative style of play.

They're both great! I really think they stand out on their own as very good games. I have trouble soloing p3rd in ways I don't think I did in MHFU, but I haven't got there yet for the guide series so we'll see. p3rd should be playable when you're done in MHFU 🙂 I hope you're enjoying the games!

Yes, all of the shield attacks do impact damage and will inflict KO if you hit the monster's head, assuming they can be knocked out.

Nice guide, you could probably talk to someone in the Hunsterverse discord and get these vids pinned so newbies can reference them. Also unrelated, but in the weapon spreadsheet where are the rankings for Lance, Gunlance and the Bowguns?
@HeadHunter4552 жыл бұрын
Aw that'd be neat, yeah I dunno 😅😅 Also I'm still working on the spreadsheet unfortunately haha, it takes a lot of time >.< And unfortunately the sources I used for all of the weapons didn't have ones made for the bowguns, so I'm not sure where I'll get that from, if I will :/

@@HeadHunter455 the shield bash isn't as effective to use in actual combat so i wont recommend using it. But i love how you demonstrate most of its great upsides of the weapon. My tip for new player though is to encourage them to use more jump slashes to kite agile monster. (JS+roll) it's one of its strengths to be that agile and hard to hit. Repositioning is a must for sns to hit those JS That's just my insights for the weapon!

I feel like the sword and shield is misunderstood and is treated as a "Beginner's weapon" due to it's damage not being as superior as the rest of the other weapon class me personally i consider it to be worthy on low rank quest pretty fun equipment to use tho

Why you didn't still cutting the monster around him, couse mobility's weapon and damage you can kill more faster instead hitting only the head? Wirh SnS + element atk you can do a lot damage all the fight, I've been fighting so hard with this weapon, you can do using ∆+∆+∆ and roll, do it all the time, cause um can tri hit faster e evade and keeping, our my way it's to wrong 😂
@yumaoverstar8 ай бұрын
Bit of a late reply, but its because of hitzones. Monsters typically take far more damage if you hit the soft spots. Since Jaggi's head is in reach, you're better off slashing at its head instead of going for other parts. For other monsters the other parts might be more easy to hit especially with SNS's low reach. Sometimes there is benefit to hitting said parts, like hitting a big monster's legs to trip them up, exposing their head by lowering it during the trip animation.
